Official GDT: Devils @ Flyers GAME 1 7:30PM

VS

GAME 1

The day we have been waiting for all year is upon us gang.
The hours are ticking away while we're all at work trying to pretend
we are in fact working. Screw whoever says our Flyers aren't first priority,
to them i say, "It's the *** Playoffs baby!!!!"
Doesn't get more important than this, game 1 will be KEY in this series.
Who will come out big for us, who will be that unsung hero to change the series in our favor.
We'll find out tonight at 7:30.
Get your smokes out, and keep your beers cold.
It's on...

Flyers 2 (Handzus, Gagné OT Winner)
Devils 1 (Gionta)

What's the status on the Devils' defense going into this game? I have heard no Stevens and Rafalski, is this still the case? If so, oh boy am I pumped. While the loss of Desjardins is unsettling, I still like the Flyers' chances in this game. Here's hoping they keep the regular season in mind and don't pysche themselves out.

Oh, and here's to having the Easter bunny just give my wife and I a 12 pack of Yuengling, so we can enjoy the game properly this evening.

LET'S GO FLYERS!!!!

We need this one, for my house's sake. I think Rafalski is playing, I could be wrong. Nothing a Bobby slash would not cure. I am pumped!!!!!!!!

I think that the Flyers will really come out Flying, but I am going to be pessimistic for the first game although I like the Flyers in the series. I think Brodeur will come out and have a very good game.

Devils 3 (Elias 2, Niedermayer)
Flyers 1 (Recchi)

Esche plays well, but D lets him down in first game.

Here's hoping you are wrong, regarding the score.

a) tape the game and try to avoid seeing any updates (it'll be on the leafs/sens game)?

b) wear my jersey and support Philly during updates and watch the taped game regardless?

c) convince the wife to stay home and order in?

Go to the pub, I'm sure they'll have the Flyers game on in a Toronto pub.

T minus 6 hours...

I see the boys coming out hard tonight and being responsible defensively. I hope Esche has all the cob webs cleared out and comes out focused.

Flyers - 2 (JR, Gags)
Devils - 1 (Niedermayer PP)

In Double OT w/ Gags gettint the GWG.

Let's Go

Nice answer!

I can't wait for tonight -- I want to see Leclair parked in front of Brodeur, Pitkanen to prove to Hitchcock that even considering sitting him was foolish, and JR and Recchi filling the net.

C'mon Flyers!!

Special teams are going to be the key tonight.

The refs were calling everything very very tight in last nights games .

Agreed, the Calgary/Vancouver game had zero flow, the first 4 goals were pp. I think we win 5 on 5, so let's hope our pp is back on track.

Gutted I won't see the game. That's the worst thing about living in England. Can't wait to get over to the US so I can watch it all I want. A good start to the series is crucial. We need to make home ice count big, Esche to be solid and for the offense to fire.

Flyers 3 (Handzus, Gagne, Roenick)
Devils 1 (Gomez)

The Bruins-Habs game had plenty of PPs, too. I think each team had 5 or 6, but then again, most of those calls were deserved, so maybe the zebras were actually doing their job and I'm just no used to it? Still, I think the Flyers getting on the PP will be a good thing, if the point men remember to put the freaking puck on net.

Well, T-minus 4 hours, 12 minutes, and counting. Rafalski playing is a boost for the Devils (depending on how ready he is), so here's hoping they don't get Stevens back too.

And thank God for Center Ice, because otherwise, no playoff game for G_Love...stupid worthless ESPN isn't showing any playoff games tonight, AFAICT. God they suck.

I am pumped for this damn game! I am also nervous too...

we need Esche and the PP to come up big in this series and for the playoffs for that matter.

hopefully the Flyboys will come out jumping off the drop of the puck.

LET'S GO FLYERS!

Just an FYI. I am not as negative as some of you think. I have picked the Flyers before. I picked them over Tor last year and then picked Ott in the following series. I kind of see the same thing here. We will take NJ is 6 or 7 but then lose the following series. I willing to bet the farm on it.
