(HF Story) Prospects in the Playoffs

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article...readed&order=0

Just because the Oilers are out doesn't mean hockey's over for their prospects does it?

Here's a bunch of updates on things from Kevin Prendergast on the morning of the "Clean Out Day". The players, coaches and management were on hand for photos (except Oates) and I had a chance to talk to Prendergast for awhile one-on-one.

Plenty of updates on some of your favorite topics and players in this one!

I really enjoyed reading this article, good job. Nice to see there's still things to enjoy as an oiler fan, with the juniors and the roadrunners doing well and the WC coming up. And then we have a potentially intriguing draft day, it's a good time to be interested in the future of the team.

Welcome to HF Spockzky, that's what we're all about!

If you want to pick up on plenty of information you wouldn't have gotten by just reading the local papers, chekc out the archived Oiler stories on the Oiler page (http://www.hockeysfuture.com/team.php?team=10) or via "The Guy Spot" thread that our mods put together for quick easy reference for newcomers like yourself!

And thanks for the compliment!

Nice article, Guy. I always enjoy hearing Prendergast's view on the prospects. Interesting that Deslauriers could see time as Toronto's backup this year.

Good read...

Funny how things turn out; at the beginning of the year I would've picked Niinimaki to be playing in North America next year instead of Mikhnov, now it looks like it could be the other way around.

Also nice to see that three of our main CHLers are wearing the C's for their respective teams. That bodes well for the character of these kids.

No kidding.

Kyle Bordziak in Moose Jaw, Marc-Antoine Pouliot in Rimouski, Jean-Francois Jacques in Baie-Comeau, Doug Lynch (was in Red Deer), Bobby Allen in Toronto, Matt Greene offered it at North Dakota, Zack Stortini in Sudbury... throw in Jarret Stoll from his days with Kootenay and Team Canada and that's a lot of leadership and character in the system.

By the way, Jason Platt and Zack Stortini both played today for the Roadrunners in the loss to St. John's.

Never mind the fight, what about him getting 5 shots on goal in his first pro game?

That shows me he was more involved in the game than just gooning it up.

I just loved reading it. This from a guy who, until a few years ago, really didn't care a whit about prospects. Good topic, good read.

Deslauriers had another monster game against Cape Breton, sending CB out of the playoffs in an upset. So much for Jeff not carrying his team in the playoffs, 'eh coach? Does anyone know why Houle started instead of Fleury for CB?

And Kenny Smith was also Harvard's captain this past season.

BTW, excellent article. I love the Prendergast ones. Nice to hear about Mikhnov and Svensk, for example.
