Bryz Named Number 1 Star of the Week

Bryz has just been named number one star of the week.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=295387

"A pair of goaltenders for upstart teams and a familiar face fill out the NHL's three stars of the week.

Ilya Bryzgalov of the Phoenix Coyotes was named the top star after posting a 3-0-0 record. He had a minscule 0.95 goals-against average and .959 save perctage in those games, helping the surprising Coyotes improve their record to 5-2-0."

Obviously he can't keep this up all season, but I could live with a dip to a 1.5 GAA and a .940 S%.

KUDOS to the D that have kept Briz from having to stand on his head for those numbers. He has been solid and the Briz the Fridge has been freezing everything else.

There aren't glaring defensive miscues being made on a nightly basis like last season (see: David Hale). Whether that's due in part to a more conservative team-first defensive system or our improved depth on the back-end, who cares if it's working.

And we've done it without Sauer all season, whose injury at mid-season last year sparked our meltdown.

I'm not really sure, but I heard the TSN rankings are based on fantasy league. I love Sauer but I doubt he would be a "key injury" on anybody's fantasy team.
