Should Price go back to his white pads?

Just wondering what everyone thinks of Price's red pads.

I don't think that he'd go back. He said in an interview that it was no time for superstition, that he looks just as big with the red pads than with the white pads.

Also, he chose the color of his new helmet to match the red pads.

It seems this is a little too hard to understand for a lot here.

Not your play, but it can help the opposition.

I think for some people it's purely as aesthetic matter (as it is for Price) and for others it's the somewhat valid observation that the constrast with the ice creates an illusion, thus making him more effective with the white pads. Then there's a mix of both. I think he's doing extremely well down low, so I think he's fine. I guess if he's going for the new look to match his new quality of play, go for it. Jaro still has white pads. Didn't Roy have pads that were mostly blue at some point (hey, it was the 80/90s)?

Yeah, I just looked at the poster I have of him on the habs, they,re blue and red with very little white. In Colorado his pads matched the colour of the team's colours.

So what your saying is white pads blend better with the ice thus confusing the opposition more? So in theory every NHL goalie should wear white pads? But yet they don't? Hmmm seems like the professionals of the sport and not to mention some of the leagues best to ever play would have caught on to this but yet they do not change. I wonder why that is?

if there's any validity to white pads making it harder on shooters, then make his glove white cuz that's where he's always beaten . . .

I know that players decide (or used to) their stick tape based on something like ability to see the puck. I think everything happens 10X faster now, it doesn't really matter, although thinking about even split second subconscious reactions, if you couldn't see a glove in the upper quadrant, you'd be more inclined to shoot there. If the glove were actually there...save. Probably doesn't matter anymore.

Well, it doesn't matter, our players always shoot in the chest anyways

But i'm for the white, as it hides the 5 hole better..

thanks for the share. sort of what I was getting at. There is some amount of science behind these things, although I don't think for Carey it has made much of a difference so far. Could work both ways. Shooter aims for uncovered portion of the net and Carey lays that as a trap. As long as he's in position, goes into his butterfly and stops it. As I said, he's been very good down low so far.

Yes because our goal scoring will increase if Price change's Pads

We are not gonna win if we cannot score more then 1-2 goals a game!!
Yes you can say that Price's GAA is over 3.00, remove that 1 game where the team left him out to dry 7-1, and that will give you a more realistic number of his GAA and Save %.

Is this seriously what keeps some people up at night?

Who cares man, we should worry about our offensive play more right now.
