As it says Alexander Sulzer and Dave Sscatchard were called up as of 10-19-2009.

This is from a source i have and most likely will be announced soon.

I could see Sulzer called up if Laasko goes down but Scatchard? I don't know about that. We must be getting desperate if you are right.

Yea, true that.

I am waiting for them to call Blum up. He has been doing really good and i think he should have a chance to prove himself.

Maybe they're waiving Legwand, and Scatchard is to replace his scoring. Poile may or may not know what he's doing but at least he's inscrutable enough he can pretend he knows what he's doing. It seems ok. Scatchard has a little size and plenty of experience. Maybe he can knock a few rebounds home. Nobody else can.

The team is slowly getting back to what I was hoping it would be before camp. O'Reilly, Franson, Sulzer, Wilson all made the squad...

... what the ****?

If we call up Scatchard, I'm not sure the team would be worth watching for even the most die-hard of fans.

it's like we have come full circle all the way back to the early years of the franchise

Scatchard has 3 goals in 4 games in Mil and brings toughness. Im wondering why he is being brought up as there is no spot for him but I can see why he is called up.

Well theres a good boost to your defence. I have no idea why Sulzer was cut in the first place. Scatchard though...I have no idea why he would be up.

Ps. If the Leafs lose 10 straight to start the year I'm becoming a Preds fan.

well, I'd say bringing toughness is probably the reason. we seem to be in short supply this year.

If Scatchard replaces Belak, I'm good with it.

Count me in this camp. Belak really isn't good enough to take a regular shift although I'm not prepared to say Scatch is...

I disagree. Belak gets around decent enough not to be a liability if he only plays 5 or 6 minutes a game. Of course he won't contribute any offense but he does his role well. It's all a matter of what Trotzy is looking for on the 4th line.

Scatchard practiced on a line with Wilson and Hornqvist today, while Franson was paired with Sulzer on defense...
