I don't think so, he just got in his way and used his stick to tie up Tavares' stick, blocked his path to the net and such. Tavares tried to force his way past and it made it look messy, but it was a good hockey play.
I'll say this now so it doesn't look like I'm complaining if we lose:
I ****ing HATE the shootout. Seriously, if there is ANY one thing in hockey I hate more then the Instigator rule this would be it. Bring back ties or make regulation wins worth 3 points if the league insists on allowing this skills competition to be counted for points. It's the equivalent of deciding a MLB game with a home run contest, it just makes ZERO sense to me and never has.
