Who will be the "Scuderi" for Gill this season?

Hey guys!

If you are not part of the solution you are a part of the problem...

Seeing how Gill's glaring flaws are all that more glaring in a habs uniform, who do you think out of our current crop of defenceman has the best ability to be the ideal partner for Gill?, much like Scuderi was keeping Gill in line in Pittsburgh.

I really don't know. I would pair him with a fast and reliable D but we don't have one.

JG is the only one I can imagine in a lower pairing that's quick enough to bail out Gill.

Gorges for sure. In my mind Gill was signed to be the 3rd pairing with Gorges.

Markov - Mara/Spacek
Hamrlik - Mara/Spacek
Gill - Gorges
O'Byrne

Gorges.

With the signing of Bergeron, Gorges won't be needed on the powerplay, so after the pp, Gill and Gorges will come out, instead of Gill and Belle, or Bergeron, or Weber, etc.

Gorges should be a good partner for him. A fast, heart and soul player like him could be a good partner for almost every defencemen on our line-up, but specially Gill who isn't very fast.

JG for sure, Gill isnt as noticeable (in a bad way) when he plays with Gorges.

Gill's greatest strength is his wingspan and this is a big asset on PK and in coverage down low. His turning radius is such that he needs a quick puck moving d-man(Spacek Markov) to help him get the play going.

Gorges is the only option i think.

If O'Byrne is playing with the same confidence when he comes back then i would probably scratch Gill and dress O'Byrne. MAB was not good yesterday either, but it was only his first game and hopefully he will at least bring a solid contribution to our PP going forward.
