Detroit is 12th in the conference but 1st in their division?

Anyways, should be a good game.

This would be a nice win to get. Unfortunately Datsyuk is back but hopefully the new system will help shut them down.

Someone needs to cross-check Holmstrom's head right off his shoulders.

3rd in the division behind Dallas and their 4-2-3 record... I'm sorry, but getting a point for an OT loss is stupid. They should have eliminated the extra point when the tie went away. Dallas has a losing record and should be behind every team in out division except Anaheim at this point.

Has Kevin Porter been called up? If so, any chance of him playing tonight?

He was only called up briefly and already returned back to San Antonio.

I don't like Detroit's record. I just have a hard time imagining them going from 3-3-1 to 3-4-1. Maybe 3-3-2, though. Yeah, that's it. Maybe we'll beat them in OT. Also, it sucks that Datsyuk has to come back tonight. Why not next game? Oh well, maybe he'll find out that he's come back too early. Let's hope for that. The Coyotes just have to pick up two points tonight. I can't imagine the heckling from the ****** valley wings fans(and I stress the word valley) if the Coyotes lose. The Coyotes just have to just them up. Also, the statement a win tonight would make would be huge. It'd give us wins over Pittsburgh, Detroit, San Jose, and Boston. That's the two teams from the last two Stanley Cups and last season's best Western Conference team and Eastern Conference team from the regular season. Of course we'll only be ten percent of the way through the season, but being 6-2, especially considering that six of the eight teams were playoff teams last season, is huge.

I'll tell you one thing, if Peter Mueller pops in a couple of goals and ends up with the first star in a victory tonight, I'll forgive him of everything.

I'm not sure if you could consider this any more of a test than Boston or San Jose were, but it's another good test.

I personally think Detroit is in for an off year, which more than likely just means they won't be competing for the President's Trophy but still division and conference. Their division is really up and coming, so they will have to work harder for those points in their division compared to years past when they were the only team from the division to even qualify for the playoffs.

Osgood is getting worn down as he winds down his career, and they are losing more and more every year without replacing. I guess it all depends on their kids like their last re-tool after the Yzerman & Shanny days.

They have been allowing three and a half goals against per game. Waiting six more hours is going to suck.

I am going with a 5-1 Coyotes win. I think we have some offensive fire power built up and I'm hoping we kick some butt tonight! Can't wait.

What I'll be looking for tonight is 60 solid minutes and the defense keeping the Wings from setting up house in front of the net as they alweys did during the Gretzky years.

While we always seemed to play the Wings tough we'd give up too many leads late in the game only to lose in OT. I rememeber two of last year's losses playing out that way, including one at the job. Fought back to take the lead, gave up a goal in the final minute, then lost in OT.

Not going to predict a score. Will measure it more on keeping the Wings on the perimeter and frustrated.

I'll be there tonight. Really have no idea what to expect. The Wings will want to make a statement just as much as the Coyotes, and the loss to the Avalanche should still sting a bit. A couple Wings--Zetterberg in particular--are due for a Big Game.

On the other hand, I could just as easily imagine Bryz stealing this one. The Wings traditionally have a hard time against good defensive teams with good goalies and energetic forechecks. Their passes get broken up, their shots get blocked, what does get through ends up in a glove or under a pad... and they don't seem to know what to do next. Especially now that they don't have the raw talent to steamroll everyone without too much effort, yeah, teams like the Coyotes are going to give them fits.

The wait does suck, big time.

Honestly these two teams are very different from last year. We all know Phoenix's differences in terms of personnel and philosophy but look at Detroit. We won't be seeing Franzen, Hudler, and Hossa...Osgood has been absolutely dreadful. Frankly the Wings have not looked like the Wings.

Not saying it will be a win but just looking at the differences from last year, the Yotes match up much better this time around.

They are still the most intimidating team in the league, to me. Whether it's justified, or not, they scare me.

I think we match up pretty well with detroit now. This game should be very winnable.

That's been the case for me, pretty much all throughout me growing up as a Coyotes fan. I don't get that same vibe anymore. I've been waiting a long time for them to fall. Looking at that roster, they lost a lot. I'm predicting a 5-2 win by the coyotes. Our depth and team speed will give them problems.

However well the team's been playing, I think it's still way too early to 'expect' wins. It's going to take a LOT of wins for me to forget the yearly 2 good games / 1 horrible performance / 2 mediocre outings cycle we've been seeing for the past 10 years.

My good old coyotes are due for a spanking. A hard slap in the face to bring all of us overoptimistic fans back down to earth.

I hope they prove me wrong.

Ugh, and that goal in the last minute was during a Wings power play that was a result of a puck off a Coyote D-man that just cleared the glass. Turris had a chance to win it in the shootout, but it sailed over the crossbar. Man, I can remember going to Wings games like they were yesterday.

Looking forward to tonight, just the same.

It┤s hard to imagine seeing the yotes win 4 straight now, when they only won 3 times 3 in a row the last season. And espacially that "long" period of off days was probably good for the wings to refocus. I hope it does┤t cool us off tonight from our little winning streak.
We went with 3 points out of that 4 games last season but i think we played always well against the wings but a÷ways fetl short.
But changed scenario with the new coaching staff etc has me going optimistic in this one.
Especially in the Wings series I had always a bad feeling about carrying a lead over to a win.
They didn`t look confident and that cool the last year like they now look under Tippet.
I newer worried against the pens, bruins, or sharks to get a late goal in or to lose the lead in the dying minutes of the game.
So I would love to see us play energizing hockey and sneak with 1 point or 2 out of this and finish the 4game-homestand with a win over LA to a 3-0-1 which will make us 6-2-1 in the standing.
SO COME ON YOTES
