We blew it, plain and simple. I think you saw how bad a team can be when its top two defensemen are out. I don't care who you are, you don't win with two key players out. But then again, you still shouldn't lose a 4-1 lead so is that an excuse? It's like, hello, that Penner guy is out there, MAYBE you might want to watch him?

Penner was a spark for you guys, and that's an understatement. I thought that scrum where you nearly scored shorthanded and didn't was going to cost you, but Penner still swung the momentum back to you guys.

Oh well, young season, and we have three more meetings upcoming. I'm not jumping ship on us. We're not a terrible team. Two games in Alberta does not a season make. Look forward to the next meeting with you guys.

... but I still think this game was wild because of the time-continuum being ripped by this:

full marks for the comeback, especially when they have so many injuries and flu victims. When the Oil tied it up at 4, i was happy then, just with that effort, even if they lost it, I said to myself that I would still be happy with the effort, given the circumstances. But to win like that, that is crazy. Penner had 11 shots on net.

Another good stat to note is that Gagner won 7 of 9 faceoffs as the first line center

Gagner/Penner/Hemsky... I really... wow... holy **** yeah **** balls!!!1!!!! WOOOOOO!!!!

How anyone can watch a game like this and think Lubo is not the best defenseman on this team. Just a sick, sick player with the puck. As good as anyone in the league.

That shot used to get blocked or deflected away.

I think there can be no doubt Penner is a step faster than before..and thats allowed him to get that extra bit of room to create angles & time to load up and let 'er buck.

Man.... we're in 4th place 9 games in. I didn't think we'd start off this well. I'm so happy. We're in tied with Calgary for goals... but they've let in 9 more goals than we have... so we're in front of them, right? Yes? sweet!

Smid is a top-4 defensive defenseman.

Penner infected the flu virus and created H1N1.

Anyway... minor detail. I'm still not a big Nilsson fan and would love if the Oilers could dump him for anything at all.

Dustin Penner was beyond incredible tonight, the guy is golden in all areas of the ice and in all situations, he is our best offensive and defensive forward IMO. I just hope that those of you out their that crapped all over this guy cheer your ***** off for him so that at the end of year 5 of his contract our 40 goal and 80 point power forward wants to STAY in Edmonton.

It was a great game by the Oilers.

Now can we get back to talking about trading that all most useless Hemsky for a draft pick please?

Lubo played freaking great I thought.

His up ice passes must be heavenly for Gagner and/or Hemsky.

Scary picture is scary lol

You know, we are missing two of our top Dmen too. Also, anyone who thinks Columbus is a bad team should get their head out of the ground.

Anybody else really like Penner's post game interview? 5 point night and he talks about how he felt he should have had more. If he can keep it up, we'll have one hell of a top line.
