Benoit Pouliot

Just wondering what you guys think of his play? Lately I thought he's getting the chances, but just not putting them in, and obviously after a few injuries Pouliot is benefited and getting more minutes.
I hope he will start capitalising his chances and breakout this/next year.
Thoughts?

From Russo's Rants ....

Quote:
"... Two things that used to driving me absolutely more insane than I already am about Pouliot: He drives the net with the stick at his waste, so how the heck are you going to shoot when the puck comes? And, when he drives the net, instead of stopping, he continues past instead of parking himself there."

Am I the only one wondering what the hell the sentence "things that used to driving me absolutely more insane than I already am" means?

I think it's a butchered way of saying that Pouliot still drives him crazy but he's apparently fixed those two particular things so maybe he's improved a bit...

I don't know, I guess that was my interpretation of it.

He's in the coaches doghouse, but he's been one of our best players early on and deserves more ice time IMO.

With Belanger out Pouliot should suit up tonight against Dallas.

Correction: Belanger did suit and Pouliot skated on a line with Noland and Boogie.
TR sat out Sheppard in favor of Pouliot. (good choice). Pouliot doesn't always give you his best effort, but at least he doesn't shot the puck like a girl.

That doesn't really make too much sense if he has been one of the best players on the ice. Its pretty evident to those who I've spoken with, Benny at practice is like watching Junior High players play with no direction. He is leaps and bounds better than Sheppard, but I think at this current point Fletcher and Richards are both trying to figure out a way to give these two kids new homes before the end of the year. I wouldn't mind keeping Pouliot honestly, but for the ice time he would get....he's useless.

Hi, fan of another team here. Just curious about how you see this guy.

What are his strengths and weaknesses?
Good shot and a strong skater is what I've heard..
Can he deke at all? Good vision?

Does he need top 6 line mates and ice time to succeed or does he work on a checking line? Is he a good body checker or more of a floater?

Basically I would like a full scouting report on the guy..
