I was at the game and let me say that we cheered when it first appeared that Cloutier was hurt. But when he was being helped off the ice alot of fans were clapping as is the case when an injured player is helped off. Its easy for the latter to be confused as mindless cheering.

The beachball was pretty funny, that certainly brought some cheers.

What does a Canucks player or a Flame player braking someone's neck have to do with the team's fans?

Please take the trolling somewhere else....

Good game. Hedberg looked sharp in a bad situation. Dirty hit by Ohlund; I hope that didn't wake up Iginla! Does anyone else think the matchup between these two warriors is classic?!?!

Can't wait for the next tilt.

Maybe I'm a little confused here.....

What the hell does the action of a player have to do with the class of the people who cheer for a particular fan?

I cheer for the Canucks. I also attend University, work several jobs during the school year, teach handicapped children how to play basketball, and knit sweaters for the homeless....but because Todd Bertuzzi fractured a guy's vertebrae I'm the spawn of Satan?

Give me a f ing break.

Well, that was a great effort by Iginla to try and get the tying goal at the end there-no wait, he was in the penalty box. Good move

Iginla needs to learn not to drop the gloves whenever he feels like it. He could break a hand, or get concussed, or something. He's way too valuable for that.

Great, great road win for the Canucks. Terrific performances from the top-line, absolutely *sublime* penalty killing (Jesus, Vancouver is good at that), and the PP comes up huge again ( Naslund). This series is really taking a physical toll on both teams, though.

(BTW, anyone see Simon scratch Ruutu? Hilarious!)

Cloutier...

Oh yeah, BES, you bet. Especially when there was 11 seconds left, the whistle had gone for an unrelated play, and there really wasn't a chance of winning. Might as well try to get some revenge for that cheapshot.

Ohlund on Iginla is "suspension worthy" but Gauthier on Jovo isn't? God I hate playoff GDT's. Most fans turn into blind homer retards who only see their own players getting hurt. Rather annoying.

Holy interference batman! So much for the refs calling that stuff. Both team's were essentially allowed to tackle each other all game.

11 seconds can make all the difference.

This trend of bitter fans claiming that because a person cheers for a team they are evil and classless because of something that one player did is just ridiculous. Clearly we all are directly responsible for Todd Bertuzzi's behavior.

Yup, Todd Bertuzzi screwed up.

Time to move along children.

Let's talk about something relevant to the game that was played tonight.

Good for you. You ever see Sakic do that? Yzerman? Stevens? The captain of a team is above that kind of garbage.

First off I am blind. I didn't see the bottom part of your post in the other game thread on the Vancouver board. Sorry about that. But there are key differences between the two hits.

Jovo went down into the lower boards, he was hit farther away from the boards than Iginla was. Iginla hit the divider between the glass and boards face first. Consider this; if he didn't wear his visor, he would have been terribly injured or worse.

Do you see Sakic ever fight? Yzerman? Do you see anyone ever do anything like that to Stevens?

All three of those guys have absorbed a lot of cheap shots over their careers. No, you never see any of them fight. Because they're too valuable.

Anyways, while Iginla did go awkwardly into the boards, he turned into the hit, which doesn't make it suspension-worthy IMO. He knew Ohlund was there.

It was a bad hit by Ohlund.

It should have been called a penalty, and it was a missed call.

End of story.

Why don't Flames fans address the hit on Jovanovski?

Oh I get it, because if a Calgary player does it, it's okay then, right?

Thanks for quoting him in your reply. You never know if you are the only one! heh.

Canuck fans were assaulted (dont ask me what that means) and beer was thrown at them outside the saddome (spelled the way I intended) according to a report here on radio. Idtiots are not exclusive to one location, so its useless fighting over who has the bigger idiots as fans of their team.

I agree. Sakic and Yzerman wouldn't do that kind of thing regardless of their captaincy status, because they're not that kind of player. Naslund wouldn't do it either. Scott Stevens, however, would do it. Hatcher would. Primeau would. Anyone remember Mario Lemieux going apesh*t on Ference last year? Exactly.

Well, technically, I'd group Lemieux more with Sakic and Yzerman, but hey, it's hockey. It's a fast-paced game, and sometimes tempers flare. I have no problem with what Iginla did. It's exactly what he should have done. This could be the spark the Flames need.

In the last ten years, we have won five series.

1994 - Calgary, Dallas, Toronto
1995 - St. Louis
2003 - St. Louis
2004 - ???

Not really impressive, I know, just trying to set the facts straight.
