You're not familiar with the purpose of a yard sale, are you? It's to get rid of some stuff that's still in good enough condition to be used. Usually just so they don't have to pack all that crap when they move.

Is this a joke? Because the word is 'spelled' not 'spelt'...

in other places beiska and grabner for horton seems to be a go and salo is better

that leaves bernier and a first for wiess i think that is fair to be honest. if you would like a prospect instead of bernier im listening.

Come on now...Tlusty has 10 points including 6 goals in 8 games in the AHL this year, was at a point per game last year (and take into consideration that at Christmas time he only had like 10 points in 25 games) He had a 5 goal game last year and is only 21. Nobody really knows why he isn't playing up for the big squad...Wilson had him play in the preseason with Allison, which was rediculous, and I think he only played like a game or 2. When you say Matthias is actually not lazy I dont know if your implying that Tlusty is because he certainly is not. I dont know, the Florida games I watched Matthias didn't really look like anything special, but granted he is still very young and a lot of people hold him in very high regards. Tlusty has played with Frolik many times (I think it was them two on the top line for the WJC) and they were drafted the same year like 3 spaces apart. I pick Tlusty over Matthias.

Nathan Horton and Kendal McCardle to edmonton for Shawn Horcoff, Andrew Cogliano and Cody Wild.

McCardle would be a good 3rd liner for springfield. Him and O'marra would be a pretty good pair.

To Edmonton:
Horton
McCardle

To Florida:
Shawn Horcoff
Andrew Cogliano
Cody Wild

Too much of a shakeup for edmonton? Maybe....

No way in hell Robak is more valuable than Tlusty, Grabovski, and Kulemin.

Oh. Thanks.

However, Ballard just started a new deal this season and is the kind of guy we're trying to build around, Gretzky's deal doesn't apply, completely different.

It's not the way of all things, which is my point...actually.

Sure everyone has a price. But think about some players (besides Ballard) price. Let's take Ovechkin for example. From my team, we would need to give up Staal, Dubinsky, Anisimov, Grachev, Callahan and Gaborik. That's just a bear minimum as well. If the Caps wanted Lundqvist or Gilroy/Del Zotto, it simply wouldn't be worth it. Some players if you want to acquire, you'd have to trade away everything, good picks, prospects, stars (etc.).

Everyone has there price like you said, but some people forget that some GMs aren't willing to give up their whole team for 1 superstar. That's why the whole "Gretzky was traded, so anybody could." just isn't true.

You might be surprised to learn that people in other English speaking countries don't follow American English conventions.

Would love for the Rangers to get their hands on Horton.

What about something like:
Higgins + Sauer + Byers + conditional 2nd rounder(if Higgins doesnt resign)

Sauer and Byers are two former 2nd rounders who look like they will turn out to be a #5/#6 physical d-man and a 3rd/4th liner who will drop the gloves if need be and go hard to the front of the net.

Awesome. Here's a little law I like to invoke:

Quote:
As the star power of components of a trade proposal increases and the relative value of said trades decreases, the probability of a reminder of the trading of Wayne Gretzky approaches one.
...and the following as Viqsi's Corollary:

Quote:
When debating a possible trade, if any argument w/r/t the unlikelihood of said trade is replied to with any mention of Wayne Gretzky or any other famous star hockey player being traded, the maker of that statement is automatically discredited and the debate is automatically lost by the person or group who referenced Gretzky's or the other star player's trade.

Ovechkin could get traded if the circumstances were right. It's not very likely (About a million to one?) but it could still happen in the right deal is out there. You're right about the price being silly - insane but it is still possible.

Ballard's contract is not ideal but it may still be workable if there is a GM out there who is interested.

I wouldn't say severely out of shape, I think he was quoted saying 'to much mom's cooking,' but one would think too if it was an issue and why he didn't make the team out of training camp due to it it may just straighten him out. He didn't look slow or nothing in the pre-season.

His AHL numbers suck and Tlusty's are great. Tlusty is not lazy and working hard to make our team. So I'll do a little comparison for you so you can see the difference.

Tlusty this year 8 gp 6g 4a 10 pts -2
last year 66gp 25g 41a 66pts +11
two years ago 14gp 7g 11a 18pts +10

Matthias this year 6gp 1g 1a 2pts even
last year 61gp 10g 10a 20pts -34

So yeah Tlusty looks to be a very good prospect and I'm glad we have him over Matthias
