Horton is a very good asset. Not sure why you would want to trade a 24 year old power forward, but I'd like him on my team at a reasonable price.

What about something like:
Higgins + Sauer + Byers + conditional 2nd rounder(if Higgins doesnt resign)

Sauer and Byers are two former 2nd rounders who look like they will turn out to be a #5/#6 physical d-man and a 3rd/4th liner who will drop the gloves if need be and go hard to the front of the net.
gonna take more than that, I'd offer up this for Horton and Campbell

Cats want to rebuild? alright, here's some prospects

Sanguinetti/Mcdonagh and Stepan/Kreider

take your pick

Because two young players like Mcdonagh/Sanguinetti and Stepan/Kreider are very valuable in the salary cap world, especially with the contracts the Rangers have already.

I think people dont understand the meaning of a "yard sale". Usually, it means you're getting rid of the older stuff to make way for newer things. So with that in mind, FL doesnt want your old stuff in return but if they had to take some older stuff back, then be prepared to offer something else of value to make up for it.

Also, I think you gotta expect them to want to move the following way before other guys. These are the veterans that would be better off playing for a contender:

G Tomas Vokoun
D Bryan McCabe
LW Cory Stillman

After that, I think you could see them willing to move impending UFAs next:

D Jordan Leopold
D Dennis Seidenberg
C Dominic Moore

After that group, I think maybe you could see them listening to offers (but only if its an upgrade for them) for guys like:

D Ville Koistinen
C Steve Reinprecht
C Kamil Kreps
LW Rostislav Olesz
C Stephen Weiss
RW Nathan Horton
D Keith Ballard

I left out a few guys due to injury-related issues (Allen, Dvorak, Tarnasky) or because they'd be the ones likely to be kept (Frolik, Booth, Kulikov, Campbell). But also factor in that FL is weak on the right side so if you want Horton, you gotta factor that in that they need right wingers and would probably be looking to upgrade on him, not deal him away for "maybe's" in picks and prospects.

Way too much. Coming off that huge season so his value would be extremely high. I'd wait a fair bit(a year?) because I do not think Booth is as good as his point totals from last year suggest.

This is simply brutal. Have you looked at Markstroms SEL numbers? and keep in mind his team was in last place when he took over last season. That team sucks and yet he has the best numbers in the league

Not with the way he's been playing. Great potential, but he doesn't come to play on a consistent basis.

Can Ballard be traded? I say yes. This is the question I was addressing.

The funniest thing is this entire thread is the goofball that said you'd have to give up a PROVEN superstar for Markstrom, an UNPROVEN prospect who has never touched his skates to meaningful NHL ice.

Only on HFboards folks.

You do realize that you're offering 3 UFAs-to-be, right? And only 1 of them has any real value in a trade at this point (Stajan). Toskala with his contract and current play has very little value. FL wouldn't be interested in Mitchell but swap him for Rosehill and that would help a bit cause FL needs a young enforcer that would fit in with the mold of the team. I still think Toronto would need to include something else if thats the deal. Either that or drop Reinprecht from the deal altogether.

I don't think Florida is going to trade Frolik any time soon. Don't think they'll give up on Horton either. They just need to inspire man... yeah I know often easier said than done with some guys.

No problem, you can have Rosehill.
Mitchell is a better allround player, but if an enforcer is what your looking for....

Dumbest thing I've read on Hfboards. Don't worry you weren't the first. Would you have traded Crosby or Tavares for a proven superstar before they got into the NHL?...ya know..since they hadn't PROVED anything on the "meaningful NHL ice."
