Christ, since when is it wrong to criticize your team when they clearly deserve it? This was a pitiful performance tonight.

Never said they played awesome buddy.

Then what's the point of your posts? You admitted that Stevens in a problem and apparently you're fine with us criticizing the team so what is your point?

No one is freaking out. We're pissed at an embarrassing, under-whelming loss and we're discussing/venting about it. Simple as that.

It's always sunny in Philadelphia.

As an outsider, you guys are overreacting. If Boosh was on his game, we might've seen a completely different game.

Since you're an outsider, I completely understand that you think that this is just about this game, but it's not.

It's about an under-achieving, frustrating team, unmotivated players, and a **** coach.

I actually thought the team as a whole put in a good effort. I felt they had a lot of chances to the naked eye, missed some open nets of course which seems par for the course. They weren't particularly sharp. If anything they just kind of looked unprepared to be playing a back-to-back.

Are we talking about the Sharks? Same thing applies to us. Well, maybe not the main coach but the assistants for sure.

Fair enough. Still, that just means that you should know our pain. At least you guys don't under-perform in the regular season (you did win the Presidents Trophy) and have a decent coach. Neither of those can apply to us.

Well, if you ask me, I'd much rather under-perform in the regular season - the playoffs failure wouldn't hurt as much..

We haven't had playoff success either though. We had a good run a couple years ago due to some really hot players, but then Pittsburgh eliminated us in round 3. Last year Pittsburgh knocked us out in round 1.

So if you want to compare us to the Sharks then it's like the Sharks minus the Presidents Trophy and roughly the same amount of playoff failure. Except our playoff failure is against a divisional rival every time it seems.

Exactly, so I'd take your failures since you guys don't overachieve and build up expectations, plus you lost to a SC winner.

EDIT: Besides, I've seen you guys play in the playoffs and the difference between reg. season and the playoffs is not huge; Sharks underperform hugely compared to the reg. season and that's what's annoying.

Doesn't help when your goalie isn't doing much for you.

It would be nice to have Nitty right about now. Cheaper, younger, better.

Now we are stuck with a player that turned his back on the Flyers, twice.

Sounds like I missed a game worth missing. In looking at the stats, the Flyers were brutalized in the faceoff circle. To a painful level.

Erm, he got traded the first time...and didn't have a NHL contract the second time.

From what I remember he was holding out (contract dispute) on Clarke (Clarke traded his arrogant ass to one of the worst teams in the NHL where he ****ing sucked) and 2nd time he left Phantoms and pissed Homer off.

Actually, Boucher was the player that instigated the Barber blow up...he was then sent in the deal that returned Handzus and Esche. I think it was more a combination of who we were getting back, and the perception that he may have crossed the line in how he handled the Barber thing more than anything else.

The 2nd time he was getting paid AHL money on an AHL contract, and got offered NHL money on a NHL contract. If Homer can't grasp how obvious that choice is, then he needs to grow up and find a different job. If he really pissed off Homer, he wouldn't have made it such a priority to bring him back this year.

Yeah, the trendy thing to do for them is to blame Richards and Pronger now. Shows you how ridiculous the situation has gotten.

Next on the chopping block will be JVR and Giroux.

I don't think the performance was awful, but at the same time, bottom line is that we scored one (1) goal on a goalie playing his 5th NHL game. You play offense like that, you aren't going to win.

Obviously Booch was terrible, no arguments there, it was a crappy signing at the time and it still is, but if you're not going to finish your chances, you're not going to win games, simple as that.

Just thought this was funny but that was an inside joke between the commentators. Remenda left for a while and Hahn was digging at him with that one. lol

Better than spreading claims that he was dealt because he was holding out on Clarke (I'm pretty sure Boucher was under contract).

How about Powe's one-timer tonight?

4th line was the only thing that was doing something

(I think you meant that specifically for Kaktus though... regarding his ABSOLUTE LOVE for Powe

I thought the 4th line looked very cohesive, really liked what all of them were doing. Carcillo was great on retrieval and cycling, and Powe and Pyorala were getting some good chances.

It continues to annoy me to no end that we don't have a guy to center the third line and let the rest of this roster work well. We clearly have the players to create a very good 4th line, and with a center you could make a good third line, with two elite scoring lines.

Oh well.

and it was Thomas Greiss. I mean really? 1 goal? I saw this guy in the AHL quite a bit and he is a nice prospect, but he is far from elite.
As you said its just frustrating that you cant finish your chances and you are letting Manny Malhotra and Jed Ortmeyer beat you.
Boucher needs to better. alot better. but when you score 1 ****ing goal on a AHL goaltender not even the great Antero Niittymaki can save you.
