Congrats to Mark Eaton

Local kid is carving out nice little career. He was the Preds top plus minus d-man. I liked Mark from the start. I think the flyers made a poor decision in keeping that no tallent Mc waz his name. Keep it up Mark!

The pick we got for him turned into Patrick Sharp. Win for both teams, edge to Flyers.

If Eaton only knew how to play defense I would say we lost that deal, but for a defensman he was weak in his own end and not Physicall.

So what was your plan? Let him hang around the Phantoms for the 4 years or so he took to get to this point when he could have developed in the NHL. He wouldn't have performed at a level to stay on the Philly teams recently. So he's going to want to have been in the minors all that time?

While I liked Eaton and was mad when he was traded, the previous poster is right: Eaton wasn't good enough defensively and has still not provided adequate offense to be on the Flyers. He wouldn't be around now period, because he isn't worth alot to trade: not then and not now.

Put it this way: would he be playing with the Flyers now? Maybe in place of Timmander, but I think Seidenberg would get that nod instead.

Good for Eaton, being traded to an expansion club was the best thing for him and his career. But lets not get carried away.
