Good sign, wonder if he'll fly, isn't that not a good thing if you get a concussion?

best wishes to him!

He was playing great in that Pens game before the 3rd period.

Has it been confirmed it was a concussion and not a neck injury etc?

Richards said he was released with a concussion, or after having sustained one, something like that.

i know it's just a pipe dream, but wouldn't it be killer if the team somehow rallied around this moment and strung together a few consecutive victories (with one of the call-ups chipping in offensively)?

Steve Gorten and myself spoke to Sexton today via speakerphone at baggage claim and it sounds like Booth is doing OK. The Panthers are going to keep Booth under wraps and keep a close watch on him because they know ''how committed, how intense'' he is. Sexton said Booth is the kind of player who won't feel good ''and think 100 pushups will be the answer.'' So they are going to closely monitor what Booth does. He may be out of the lineup for a few weeks.
Quote:
According to Sexton, Booth was alert and the two had a good conversation about a variety of subjects. The Richards hit, apparently, did not come up. Sexton just wanted to talk to Booth about a bunch of stuff to see how alert he really was. ''I was pleasently surprised,'' Sexton said. ''We talked about a bunch of things.''
His family was watching last night on Center Ice.

So thankful that he's ok.

He's a tough kid...remember that game (last season? Season before?) when he went into the boards and had to be carted off the ice on a stretcher? He was back pretty quickly from that injury as well.

I was going to post this as a separate thread but GR's blog was already posted so this is what I found interesting. In GR's opinion, Booth will be out weeks as Stillman came back too soon from a concussion and suffered after effects. Also GR said he thinks Kulikov should be sent back down to Juniors as, in GR's words, "With the team 2-6-1, it might be best for him to go back in my opinion. No, he's not going to learn anything more in the QMJHL, but this place is close to imploding. It might just get ugly around here. This season has Titanic written all over it."

No suspension for Richards.

And the knee on knee against Radek - the news stories aren't even mentioning he was injured for the most part, as though he doesn't matter, yet he's been a key part of this team for the entirety of this young season. One of the few players you notice every game trying to turn this sinking ship back to shore. Remember 10 years ago when the league was actually suspending players for that type of hit? I guess it's okay to do it now...at least to a Panther. They all deserve to get injured.

Anyhow...so it's all water under the bridge now. I noticed last night's game got a LOT less interesting without Booth and Radek out there getting their breakaways and chances. Hope this isn't a portent of the rest of the season to come - be a real shame if the Panthers are losing and ALSO are boring to watch.

I've said this for about 2 weeks now. I don't understand why everyone wants to keep him around so much. This is not the type of environment he should be in as an 18-year old.

They didn't rally last night, so more than likely it's a NO. But, they were affected by the sight of the hit and the aftermath. So let's hope the shock factor turns to anger and determination.

It's all related. Do you want Kuli to get hurt? Because the way they are playing it's just a matter of time. Why waste a year and take that chance as well.

Also, because of Booth and Dvo we will need many changes and Kuli is in that mix.

Yes we do, glad you're finally waking up, however, this thread is about Booth's injury, not Kulikov's career. First time on HF?

Good to hear Booth is ok. I was worried for a bit there. He was out cold and didn't move for a while.

As for Kulikov, I am also for sending him down. As it's been stated already, this place is going to be a bad environment and we shouldn't taint the poor kid at such a young age.
