Rangers organizational depth analysis, Fall 2009

The Rangers organization is very strong at left wing, center and defense.

Yup, what I said a couple days ago. Good article. We are lucky to have Leslie as our prospects girl. The quality of Ranger stuff on HF is superior to the that of 90% of teams.

A few minor notes:

- Dupont plays LW in Hart, no? I think his upside is higher than that of Byers, though the odds of making it to the NHL are less.

- Hillier was hardly an "offensive force" in juniors. QMJHL is a high scoring league, and he only had a point per game in his last year, and even less the prior years. That doesn't impress me in QMJHL. Offensive players who get 60-70 points per game in QMJHL usually wind up in the ECHL or as average AHLers.

- Is Crowder really expected to play in the NHL later this year, other than for a cup of coffee if injuries hit? I don't really view him as much of a prospect. Maybe as a fourth liner some day.

- Ryan Bourque is a LW now. I don't think he had a good start in the QMJHL. For someone who's supposed to be very talented, he should get 80+ points and instead on pace for half of that. And it's not like his size is an issue at this point in juniors. If size is an issue now, he's definitely never making it.

No mention of McDonagh? Seems like a bit of an oversight...

Holy, *****. Thanks for the heads up. My last paragraph in the D section never made it to the final version. My bad. I will try to have it fixed.

Dupont is a natural center and has been playing there the last few games. He does play left wing most of the time.

HF pretty much requires me to list them at the positions that the Rangers have the prospect on their website. I was able to sneak in Grachev under wing.

He's Ranger property now, no longer considered Golden.
