"Canada Russia '72" is a mini-series made by the CBC over that epic series (180 minutes long), was very good.

I voted for Slapshot but honourable mention to Les Boys series.

Yes, it is French and from "La Belle Province" but it is freaking side-splittingly hilarious stuff, especially the bits with the club, or when Team Canada's Women squad pastes them and they show up José Théodore, who was with the Canadiens at the time.

Simply hilarious stuff.

Slapshot is probably the best hockey movie ever, but I went with Miracle because that movie inspires me a hell of a lot more than Slapshot does

No "Net Worth"?

Miracle for me. I liked that Miracle tells the whole story- the world politics at the time, the USA hockey politics- all of it.

"Great moments are born from great opportunity... you were born to be hockey players, every one of you. You were meant to be here tonight. This is your time... Now go out there and take it."

Man I love that speech.

Best? Slapshot

Favorite? Miracle. I got to see the movie at the AMC near my campus (in the heart of Boston) and sitting in front of me and my college buddies was the entire BU hockey team, already drunk and pounding more beers.

They made the movie very interesting... It was like watching a hockey game with all the cheering, clapping and chanting from them.

Without question. Then comes Miracle. I haven't seen The Rocket, yet, but I'm assuming it's a great movie. I have a feeling I'd put it at three.

From a movie critic standpoint Slapshot was cinematic trash. The comedy, plot, and acting was all horrible, the only thing its got going for it, is nostalgia.

I find that a lot of critics are generally douchenozzles who take movies far too seriously and just seem pissed off at the world.

I throughly enjoyed The Rocket, and I'm a Leaf fan.

Can't pick just one. As a kid I loved the Ducks movies. Really liked Miracle also, such a great job depicting Brooks in that one.

Slapshot!!!! The Hanson Brothers are awesome in the movie and in real life. I got the opportunity to play with them in a charity game and they're really great guys who just want to have fun but more importantly, make sure everybody else is having fun.

Slapshot is hilarious. It's a classic, it'll win, and it'll deserve it. But Mystery, Alaska isn't far off. Miracle was decent, but overly sappy to me. I have no desire to watch it again, but I know I'll watch Mystery, Alaska several more times in my life.

I know its sacrilegious in the hockey community to say this, but Slapshot is overrated as a movie. Conversely, Mystery, Alaska is pretty underrated, IMO.
