looks like Gomez and Moen are both game time decisions. I know chipper is available to play but what if both gomez and moen cant go? Am I forgetting someone?
In pre-game interview yesterday Martin told to RDS that he could use a D as a forward and use 7 D. So, Leach is your man.
Yes that is true. In this perspective I see him trying to play. I can understand players wanting to represent their country. But I doubt he'll want to put himself in harms way if he doesn't feel ready. That's all I'm saying. Players know they can get injured in any game, its a risk.
While its true that there are always risks to playing in the Olympics, I think that its well worth it in Markov's case. Markov will have been out so long that the games he would play with Russia will help getting him back in great shape. He'll be in top form when he returns which will be great for the Habs.
If memory serves, Guys like Koivu and Kovalev took therapy days all the time last year. Wouldn't worry too much about it. Fact is though, if we Markov in the lineup they would probably give Spacek a game or two off.
To all the armchair coaches who listen to what Marinaro says and then repeat it,
Laraque, although that play cost us a point and almost two points, is quite useful at what he does. Which is keep the puck in deep in the offensive zone and use his size to protect it and keep the play in deep during the few seconds of his shift and B - as an enforcer even by mere presence.
His shift with 2 penalties was very, very awfully stupid though I'll grant you that. Otherwise he is useful and actually is pretty decent offensively in a very limited role. It's all about understanding his limitations and his abilities and playing within those abilities.

He's doing just fine imo.
gimme some of what you're smoking son!
Laraque's been terrible at everything. To think that he's been "fine" is to not actually watch him play.
He's too slow to keep up with any forwards, he may "keep the puck down low" once he actually gets there (and that happens once or twice during the course of an entire game) but he sure as hell cant do anything with that puck. He doesnt even stand in front of the net.
Forget about the enforcer part, no one's afraid of the guy because no one will fight him and his stupid code.
Laraque's a waste of space/money. As simple as that. The team can very well play without him in the lineup.
