Playing on Fenway Ice.

Anyone else playing hockey at fenway park in december? My men's league team is one of many that will play a game at fenway during the short amount of time the rink will be set up. expensive but a pretty cool opportunity. Anyone here play in the metro boston NESHL "A" division?

haha it would be awesome, it'd also cost us each about $300, so thats the sticking point, particularly for someone with such financial struggles as myself. However, it would be amazing, and if we do it I expect you to be there to watch the game Chuck.

What is the quality of the A division for metro boston. i play in an A division in Rhode Island and just curious what we are up against. i'm assuming its pretty damn good. I'd prefer not to get crushed. lol

A division is really solid. I am sure RI is comparable though.

My buddy is trying to grab a slot of ice for his company's annual pickup skate. If that happens I will also be skating at Fenway...hopefully

i got a feeling it could be ugly. my team plays in our A league and B league. (mostly the same players) we are going for our 3rd straight B league championship but we are a bottom feeder in the A league although for this game we should be better since we grabbed some extra talent and dumped some of our friends who just arent very good. im not that worried as i can hold my own but we dont have any truely great players to carry our team which is one of our biggest problems.

is the league filled with college players and guys who played semi-pro?

my next door neighbor and best friend growin up has one in his. His house is for sale.

Let's buy it and turn it into a hockey/beer house!

Sorry it's just been on the market for 2 years and I've contemplating buying it for the rink alone. Boards, nets, lines, got everything.

I am not sure $10k is worth playing in the real Winter Classic game!

Nice....rent the ice and the house out weekly!

There is a multi-million dollar house in my town that has a covered ice rink with that fake ice...so sweet.

ahhah. I guarantee we wouldn't have trouble finding people who want ice time on the south shore. As we all know, skating outdoors in the winter around here can get pretty brutal. But no matter, if you build it, they will come.

10K is quite steep for ice time. How long do you have ice for?

I emailed the B's about that but they just told me that any info will be on BostonBruins.com.

If you hear anything let me know and I'll do the same.

I rented a room on N.Y. Eve because I want to take the kids public skating at Fenway and spend First Night in Boston.

Hopefully we can get on.

Is that an NESHL exclusive or something? Or is the ice rentable by anyone with the money? I hadn't heard about this before (not that I can afford to do it, it's just fun to consider it).

I'll talk to my STH rep and see if she has any info.

As much as I am going to love going to the game, Skating on the ice would, IMO be even better.

You could purchase a synthetic ice installation and skate year round.

My firm's team is in the N. Boston B division and we are playing on the Fenway ice as far as I know sometime around 12/21. $300 a pop is pretty reasonable for a one in a lifetime experience. We're pretty psyched about it.
