The Flyers got a bit of contract relief Wednesday afternoon when they traded defensive prospect Patrik Hersley to Nashville for future considerations, CSNPhilly.com has learned.
This move reduces the Flyers' number of pro contracts from 49 to 48 – two below the NHL maximum of 50. General manager Paul Holmgren had said recently that he was hoping to gain some additional contract space in case he needed it this fall.
If he gets claimed, Holmgren should be subjected to tar and feathering. Which in and of itself is overdue.
Agree. I cant think of any reason why he would be recalled right now. He will get claimed as for 1.3 mm he is a solid bottom pairing guy. 2.75 he is not. Unless they are trading away another dman makes little sense as jones doesn’t solve any of the problems they have right now. To waste 1.3mmin cap space for no reason is silly.
