It's one thing to take a chance on a guy who's had some bad luck, but damaged goods (if that's what he is) are not something we need anymore of.
He is beyond damaged goods.

Maybe instead we can entice Dean Malkoc to come back and suit up? A good 7th d-man don't you think?

Is this for real? Based on this quote I can only imagine one of two things:

1. You don't watch the games.
2. Hillen stole your girlfriend.

Seriously...Right now Hillen is our 2nd best defenceman. If you want to end some experiements, end these first...

Tambellini
Sim
Thompson
Sutton
Shremp
Comeau (yeah that's right)

Hillen? A 23 year old defenseman who has shown good potential to skate and move the puck? I mean really...

Completely agreed, I think Hillen has been pretty damn good so far, I don't understand all the flak he gets on here.

give hillen ice time, get his trade value up and then goodbye,

1) We have about 4 jack hillen prospects who hypothetically speaking should be better.
2) We need to add some size once witt and suttons contracts are up, bruno gervais plays like a 15 yr old. streit is our OD, we are going to be lacking on size and grit on our blueline soon.

Wow, and from your post I'd just as easily assume that Hillen was your brother or your lover. But really, was there a need for such tone in your post after I calmly explained why I wasn't a fan of Jack Hillen? I didn't use any overdramatic adjectives such as "suck" or "garbage". If you would have continued to read through the thread before adding your reactionary post, you would have seen that I elaborated as to why I feel this way. I merely don't have any confidence in his ability in the defensive zone because he tends to lose the physical battles which lead to turnovers and then goals by the opposition.

But having said that, he did have a hell of a game last night and has been playing much better over the past few. And while it's too early to say with any surety that he's turned the corner, there's definitely been a positive trend in his playing. Hopefully it will continue.

And as far as not watching the games, Sutton and Thompson have been playing very well for far longer than Hillen. Maybe we should keep an eye on each other to make sure we're both watching enough Islanders hockey?
