I'll admit that I haven't watched each game in complete detail like I did last year, but Avery isn't the same. Sean Avery doesn't have enough skill to not play "his game", and when he isn't playing his game he is not as effective. Torts has to let Avery play on edge and play on that line every game (meaning he has to let Avery be Avery without doing anything completely stupid). If you are a GM or coach, you don't have Avery on your team to be a solid third liner. You have him because he's Avery, and because he is the most hated player in the NHL.

Torts has to loosen the reigns a bit, and let Avery be a d*ck on the ice.

Without benching him when the refs give him a penalty for farting in their general direction.

He is an unsportsmanlike POS. It embarrasses me how much our fans like his ******** sometimes. Couple that with the "sloppy seconds" chant last year and it just makes me hang my head in shame sometimes.

Id rather he be invisible than take 2 minor penalties a game at bad times. this guy gets so much leeway because he is an exciting player, if a player like Drury or Rozsival were to take an untimely penalty that lost us the isles game they would be crucified.

whether or not its partly Torts fault, all his fault, not his fault at all; I think it's funny that it's just assumed it's Torts' fault by a lot of people so far.

I feel real bad for the day we're not sporting an 8-4-1 record, because so far everything has been Tortarella's fault. I'm surprised there isn't a thread blaming Gaborik's injury on Torts.

Averys attack on Bodreau

Whats Avery really saying to piss of the players and coaches on the other team so much?

These were made before game 7 last year against the Caps, I think. Little chance for Campbell action.

Avery and Boudreau were together in Manchester(AHL). Darren Millard of Sportsnet/HockeyCentral Fan 590 always tells the story of how Boudreau told Kings management "if Avery is assigned to Manchester next season,he is quitting".

Boudreau is fat. I saw Boudreau and his wife walking around Manhattan in late June. It was the week of the NHL draft in Montreal. They spent a few days in NY before traveling to Montreal.

Boudreau barely fit on the busy sidewalks. I saw a short fat old bald white guy and immediately recognized him.

Avery is just giving him some advice.

Even though he's not very tall--he does look a little large. I've always wondered about him and Hitchcock being on ice during practices. Boudreau was actually a pretty nifty player a long long time ago though.

One more thing. How did avery say this anyway? did he see boudreau in the hallway or something and just felt like screaming that out? and then boudreau feels the need to write this in his "book"?

Well then, when i write my life story i'll be sure to include chris drury saying F YA to crosby and tom poti being called a ****ing nerd

Who would publish a book written by Boudreau? What has he done in his career to deserve it? And who in their right mind would buy or read it?! Geez!!

Is this from last year? Must be.....

Sean should be encouraged imo, not discouraged from being a pain in the ass.

He is what he is and is a great antagonizer. Its worth it to let him fly. This team needs some fire....

What are you talking about? Renney had a winning record and got blamed for everthing under the sun. Is this really anything new?

Here's the Washingon Post article about Boudreau's book, complete with quote about Avery, that is referenced in the Aftonbladet story:

That shows some of the milder stuff he said when he was on Detroit... I can only imagine what he says now.
