I'm thinking that's not the first time Avery has picked on the fat kid.

What credentials does that fat tub have to write a book anyway? He should concentrate his efforts on blowing ovechkin for making him look like a coach

Clearly Avery was concerned with Bruce's weight and was attempting to let the guy know that he needs to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Sean Avery, friend of the American Heart Association since the 2009 NHL PLayoffs.

King Clancy Memorial Trophy for Sean Avery? Anyone?

Honestly, it's not that bad until the "dies" part. High School drama. Something tells me the stuff that Boudreau yells at Avery is twice as bad. There's no way this is a one-sided thing

i dont know how anyone can be saying "i love avery" for these comments.

Not only is it disrespectful for any player to say that to someone he doesn't have to face on the ice, but its worse because avery played for boudreau. Meaning Boudreau helped avery get there.

None of us have any idea what the exchange was like between these two. For all we know, Boudreau could have instigated and given it back even worse to Sean. Plenty of ammo to use on Avery after all.

Avery is a *****, we all know that. But we still don't know the context of these comments.

Could actually be true. We all know when the race is tight and in the playoffs, the refs tend to put down their whistles. That's the ideal time for Sean to be Sean

Avery was really into it today. He threw his body around and was talking trash like you would not believe. At one point he was "exchanging" words with three Bruins before an offensive zone faceoff. The look on his face and the reactions of the 3 Bruins players were just priceless. Gotta love Avery. Too bad his sweat shirts are 94 dollars, he would sell tons if they were priced better.

avery is a third liner.

i cant count how many times he's created something in the offensive zone, then imediately killed it by not having the skill to control the puck down low and keep it going....hes a hard working player who sometimes surprises about plays beyond what he should be able to with his skill set but he does not have top 6 abilties

im starting to feel almost the same way about cally, although i certainlly feel he is much better than sean....

let the flaming begin

NEW YORK — Ranger winger Sean Avery, who has a penchant for such things, was shooting his mouth off at various Bruins during the pregame warmups yesterday at Madison Square Garden. The trash talk caught the keenly-tuned ear of Boston captain Zdeno Chara.
‘‘Just him being himself,’’ said the 6-foot-9-inch Chara, following a 1-0 Rangers win. ‘‘I skated right up to him and told him, ‘Uh-uh, you’re not going to do that to our team.’ I tried to let him know. And I told him, every time I had a chance to hit him, I’d put him on his ass.’’
One of Chara’s five hits on the afternoon came in the first period and it dropped Avery in a heap, leaving him blinking as he made his way slowly back to the Blueshirt bench. Avery finished the day with decent numbers, including two shots on net and three hits, compiled over 18 shifts and 12 minutes 39 seconds of ice time. Overall, though, the notorious agitator was remarkably quiet.

Calgary columnist wants Avery to apologize

The Rangers are playing the Flames on Saturday. It's Sean Avery's first game in Calgary and against the Flames since those "sloppy seconds" comments.

A Calgary Sun columnist wants Avery to apologize.

Quote:
Only one thing needs to be said later this week when Sean Avery returns to Calgary for the first time since his sloppy seconds salvo:

"I'm sorry."

If the classless New York Rangers mouthpiece has a shred of decency in him, he'll publicly apologize to Dion Phaneuf and girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert for his stunningly offside comments of a year ago.
Quote:
Not that it's going to save him from the type of beating several Flames players have dreamed of administering to the league's biggest weasel for a full year.
http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NHL...am%21%20hockey

The Flames should worry about making the playoffs and winning a playoff series.

Wow, what a bunch of whiny babies. Why in gods name would they care what Sean Avery of all people thinks. Get over yourselves.

Edit: I should have said what baby since it appears to be just that guy

The funny thing is that people feel that if he gets knocked around in a game, it will immediately lead to Avery becoming a choir boy out there and doing everything to make the world love him.

Avery is Avery...he will do what he wants to do and that is that. If you are silly enough to get into it with him, then more fool you.

I kinda love the guy

Great... i hope Avery antagonizes them early just enough to ruffle their feathers and the Flames worry about him while Gaborik sneaks in from the weeds and scores 2 or 3...

Avery actually needs some controversy to get him going.

Part of me wonders if it is Torts doing.

That's the one thing I don't really like about a coac like Torts.

I understand the need to instill discipline and work hard, but I think he always throws a negative into his comments and that tends to wear thing with people after a while.

I do wonder if it will wear thing before the Rangers even turn into a serious contender.

If you notice Avery is not the only one who has not been scoring. Prospal and Gaborik have been great scoring and Drury, Callahan, Avery and Higgins have been not. Anisimov and Lisin are outscoring them.
