Interesting that Lee won't be playing with Phillips. Who will?

Yeah, that is quite surprising.

A Campoli - Lee pairing gets me a bit worried...

I wonder what he'll go with...

I assume the Picard - Carkner pairing will stay. And if Lee is not with Phillips, that leaves only one other possibility...

Phillips - Kuba
Campoli - Lee
Picard - Carkner

Hmmm...

It's just interesting because Lee and Phillips have teamed up in the past and played quite well together. I don't know, maybe they put Carkner up there with Phillips.

Maybe...

Phillips - Carkner
Kuba - Campoli
Picard - Lee

Hmmm... I'm worried.

I was thinking Carkner - Phillips as the main shutdown pair. Kuba - Camps of course and Picrad - Lee YIKES!!

Volchenkovs injury which sucks dont get me wrong. But this could be a blessing in disguise...allows us to see if Carkner can play the top shutdown role with Phillips and allows us to see if Lee is stronger and ready for the NHL now.

I don't want to put too much pressure on him but Lee is short on chances to show what he can do. With Cowen and Karlsson vying for a regular spots next year, Lee will be hard pressed to displace someone. His time to shine is now.

this year is an all-out battle between lee, picard, and campoli to keep their jobs. They know phillips, kuba, and carkner already have their contracts, and they know the sens organization will be pushing for karlsson and cowen (and wiercioch) soon. Hopefully, they all elevate their play so that whoever loses the battle has trade value either for a deadline acquisition or as an RFA this summer.

I HIGHLY doubt this. Carkner has been very impressive so far and he brings alot to the table as a 5/6 guy and most of what he brings is a physical presence. That's alot to ask of him to step up and play heavy minutes in a shut down role with Phillips essentially replacing A-Train.
He should stick to what he's been doing and not mess with things. I'm very surprised it's not Lee playing with Phillips but we'll see what Clouston has in store and hopefully he knows what he's doing.

Apparently he's been a shut down guy in Bingo, i wouldn't mind seeing what he can do with a guy like Phillips.

I just don't see why they should take him away from Picard just yet, that tandem has been rather solid.

Exactly, keep him with Picard for now. But I guess he can be given a shot to see what he can do with more minutes and more responsibility.

Maybe we should just dress 5 defense men and sit out Picard. He seems to be the other teams seventh man lately.

P.S. This is a joke. No need for anyone to go crazy.

Well, if they do pair Lee with Campoli, we'll get a good idea of what the "Campoli" effect is or not with respect to Karlsson.

Lee and Campoli finished the season together last year and did well.

Campoli and and Lee seems like the only viable option. If they look like they're struggling then Clouston could shake it up. Carkner and Phillps should pair up because Carkner looks like he could be the poor man's Volchenkov

Well, then, I'm not sure why you were surprised that Lee wasn't playing with Phillips.

I thought I had explained that reasoning earlier but I guess not. Lee filled in for Volchenkov when he went out last year and has played with Phillips in the past before and looked fine. Phillips has actually mentioned how much he likes playing with a right handed shot too. Lee has essentially played with all the guys on the blueline at some point, except Carkner.

THe lineup posted in that link above would make sense, although I've never heard of that site before. Kuba and Lee have played together before, and Campoli gets to play with a guy who will let him play offensively.

From what I heard Kuba-Campoli were very good last night, and Carkner-Picard is a fine bottom pairing, I don't see why they wouldn't just put Lee with Phillips. As mentioned before they have looked very good together in the past.

A very dignified monkey, my favorite kind. The kind that looks you in the eye, and you just know that they know they're better than you, and that they're thinking "that's right, *****, I'm wearing a shirt."

I'm pretty sure that anyone can pretty much play with Kuba.

If they're defensive-minded, Kuba can play the offensive role.

If they're more offensive-minded, Kuba can babysit as well.

Carkner's style is the closest to Volchenkov's, that's why he is playing with Phillips tonight.

Phillips-Carkner
Kuba-Campoli
Picard-Lee
