Injuries are nothing new to Mr Muffin man
Don't know where the Muffin Man reference came from, but it's pretty weak. Souray certainly has an injury history, but you make him out to be Gaborik or Havlatesque. He's not. He's a tough SOB. And while he has had injury woes, it's not a given that he's going to be gone from games 12 to 68 every year, a la Gaborik and Havlat.

This argument reminded me of an interview with Dean McAmmond and the interviewer asked him if he was concerned about consussion problems and he responded something like "no I am concerned about people smashing my face against their elbows, the glass, the ice, etc."

Souray is injury prone, there is no doubt about that, but things like needing shoulder surgery because of a dislocated shoulder during a FIGHT and being run head first into the boards from behind hardly constitutes a player being soft.

As others have said, the muffin man nickname is really corny and I can't see how it fits.

Maybe JTS's new nickname should be Mr. Footsy Mouth.

I'm getting the same feeling, and it's making me sick to my stomach...

Then again, it could just be the H1N1 I contracted from watching that game on Tuesday

Make the best of the situation that you can:

LTIR and then make a play for Duncan Keith in the offseason.

We have no Souray and no Lubo? Is anyone else losing hope? It's bad enough that a) Hemskey doesn't look like he wants to even play here anymore, b) Horcoff has shown his true colours in being invisible, c) Nilson is not being sent back to the whole that he apparently crawled out from this season.......

The thing that pisses me off the most is Iginla got nothing but a two minute penatly and took out our best defence for months. The NHL is a joke.

I hope he gets booed in Edmonton for the rest of his cupless career! When he was booed last time I thought "it's about damn time Oilers fans boo this p.o.s.!"

I would say that's the least of his concerns . A flamer getting booed in Edmonton . Oh well .

I expect he's knows it was a cheap play , probably wishes he hadn't made it , and is very concerned about the next time he has to line up against Sheldon Souray . Iggy's reaction to the ( totally clean ) Stortini hit last week should tell everyone how he would have reacted had he been on the receiving end of a hit like the one he put on Souray . Sickening that Iginla got away with that .

If there's any justice then "Iggy" will miss at least 10 games with injury at some point this season. Has he ever been injured?

OK we get it. You have a hate on for Souray for some reason.
A player is soft if they get H1N1 because their immune system is weak......sounds stupid doesnt it. Same goes for getting your head rammed into the boards...you never see it coming

Iginla doesn't need to be Bood. He wouldn't care.

You just have to smash him through the boards like Brule did to Filpulla tonight.

This board is hilarious

Iginla accidentally takes Souray into the boards: "Rabble rabble rabble!!! Iginla should be kicked out of the league, dirty player! No suspension is BUSH LEAGUE!"

What if the situation was reversed and Souray accidentally took Iginla into the boards? I imagine it would go a lot like this: "Hockey's a tough sport and injuries have to be taken into account. Plays like this happen and it's just part of the game."

Anyways. Concussions are a scary thing and hopefully Souray recovers soon.

The entire argument is foolish because a player's proneness to injury shouldn't include a dirty play from the opposition. It's almost like saying Erik Cole is injury prone, and using the Orpik hit as justification.
yip.

Silly. It was a dirty hit. I still don't know what iginla was thinking. he was trying to play hard and just made a stupid ****ing play.

I really hope when Souray finally gets back he drops the gloves and pounds the **** out of Iginlia.

you know, largly I agree. I don't think Iginla should be kicked out of the league, but I can't stand defending him totally either.

It was not an accident. I don't know what goggles you have on to see that. he clearly had speed and was right in Souray's numbers as they went into the board.

how in any ones wildest dreams was that not a hit from behind?

It is hockey, people get hurt, Iginla was playing hard, but went to far.
