Does Pacioretty belong in the AHL?

I'm curios as to what percentage of Habs fan believe that the Habs and Pacioretty would be better served in the AHL to give him a chance to develop. Personally I think he needs time to learn to produce points at a high level and he hasn't even proven that he can dominate in the AHL. I think he has great potential but I'm afraid he's going to end up like Lattendresse. A young guy with potential to be a power forward but his development was ******** by playing in the NHL too soon.

I know we don't have anyone that we can call up to replace him but why not give Latendresse a real shot at playing on the second line for 40 games. Whoever replaces Pacioretty can play in the bottom 6.

You have to go back and set the length of time you want the poll to last.

His speed and forechecking abilities belong to the NHL, but the rest of his game belong to the AHL at the moment... My two cents

He does belong in the NHL

Too bad he was rushed into it and now we have a second version of Latendresse.

Pacioretty should have stayed in the AHL for 2-3 years but we rushed him just like we're gonna rush Leblanc.

About a week ago, I said AHL. But, he's getting better every game...and he was one of our better players against the Pens, IMO.

So today, I say NHL. Because, if he continues to improve like this...

This.

He's clearly bought into Martin system, and has been working his butt off. I'm really hoping that he starts popping some in now.

Agree 100%, if we want him as a top 6 forward he needs almost a full year AHL to work in a more offensive role.

I think he will develop better and faster as a NHLer. In the AHL, he would have play a offencive game, but here, he play a defencive game and a offencive game. So far, I really see big improvement in his confidence and play.

Yes send him to AHL. I really liked what i saw from Pyatt preseason, and he has paid his dues between the echl and ahl. Wouldn't mind seeing him promoted and get an opportunity to show what he got.

Indeed, MaxPac isnt ready, needs time in the AHL and I expect some players movement after this road trip.. I think Pyatt has high chances to be called up..

I hope Pacs goes to Hamilton to play on the first line and on the PP there. He can play on the 4th or 3rd line here but if we want him to become a good offensive player it will be better for him to be in the AHL

He belongs less to the AHL than D'Agostini. This last one should be in AHL.

Dags would get claimed off waivers so thats not an option. With Pac the habs do have the option to send him to the AHL where he will get to play top minutes in all situations.

Well we needed two guys out of Pacioretty,Latendresse,S.Kostitsyn and D'Agostini to score 20... looks like it won't happen.

You can say that about many minor leaguer.

Who do you bring that is better than MaxPac?

Serguei is the only one I see and he is not ready/sick.

In the mean time, I think that Max can do a pretty good job on third and fourth line.

Max is only one sixth of the problem.
Problem is Latendresse, Lapierre, Dago, MaxPac, Chipchura and Andrei.
That's half of our fowards.
That wasn't the question.
This isn't about who would replace him. It's about assessing MaxPac's skills.
Right now, they've been less than impressive.

At first, we thought D'Ago, Sergei, Lats and himself would battle out for the last top6 spot. As we know, none of these players stepped up to clinch that position.
In fact, the one that should he could fit in the top 6 the most was Sergei but he was sent down for different reasons.

So that left an opening. D'Ago didn't do anything. Lats did so little that Lappy was tried more often than him on top 6.
MaxPac we were told, was kept because of his big body but I haven't seen him throw one punishing check. I have not seen one player fall after one of hit hits.
Offensively, I've seen 0 creativity and production.

So..did this Power Forward suddenly become a 4th line grinder?
I see no point in keeping him on 4th line if it means not having a top6 player on our roster.
