Not yet. He's still behind Zach Boychuk in line and perhaps others. He's the main guy that I think the organization wants to stay in the AHL for the entire season. Unless we REALLY hit the tank, he'll play the entire year in the AHL.
Frankly that's one of the big reasons I'm not a huge fan of Daniels as a coach. He is a very nice guy and makes a good assistant, especially in the good cop role to a head coach that can play the bad cop role. BUT at the end of the day I'm just not sure about him tactically. It's not necessarily a bad thing letting him prove himself in the AHL, but I'd rather have Rowe back down there and establish a culture of winning in this organization from top to bottom rather then a culture of inconsistency.
I do not, at all, consider him a real candidate for the head coaching spot should Mo be fired, and I will be highly disappointed if that's the direction that JR decides to go in. Admitedly some of that is because I thought Rowe should have been the guy to replace Lavi in the first place.
