Hopefully another good game. My very cliched keys to the game for the Devils:

Score first. This team isn't built to come from behind. Friesen and Kozlov have to generate some tangible offense, assuming Kozlov is even dressed. Madden has to step up and be the sparkplug he's been in years past. Toss out the Elias line whenever the Timander-Pitkanen pairing is out there. And most importantly, Brodeur needs to step up his game.

Timmander and Pitkanen have been a solid pair....you sould try to match Elias against the Malakov.

I see this being a low scoring game with lots of emotion ropbably a 2-1 game either way going into OT.

Didn't we see that game twice late in the regular season?

This is a "character game" for Marty Brodeur tonight. I think he's going to respond well. I'm thinking* a textbook 2-0 Devils win.

*praying, actually.

Hrm, I'm listening the the Flyers radio feed via NHL.com. Kinda strange in that they don't cut out to commercials, so you hear the announcers during the commercial breaks.

That's the best bit. Hearing Tim Saunders and Brian Propp curse and swear at their production team is funny :lol

The hell is with the crowd ?

God, Jersey is a horrible hockeymarket ... Nashville is beating you guys in attendance.

Worry less about the crowd and more about the crazy game that is going on!

What a roller coaster ride of emotions. Goes from looking like the end, to looking like a fresh start in the matter of 1 intermission.

our offense and goalie are clicking, but the defense just doesn't want this team to move on, sort of like a little kid not wanting to move to the deep end of the pool. Horrible coverage, leaving Elias wide open twice, and a boneheaded play by I think Markov when Martin scored amidst the scramble

i hope this team works on shooting in practice tomorrow. Missed shots, fanned shots, thats the kind of execution that leaves so many inmates ON death row.

after being up 2-0 i expected jersey to win a game by brodeur stealing a game like 2-1...not an offensive shootout

Markov with a boneheaded play there. Without defensive breakdowns, this game is still going on.

Champions die hard and find ways to win. Philly still has to be the favorite to take this series up 2-1, but NJD is sooooo resourceful.

-change the coverage on elias
-keep the offensive momentum that we had in the last ten minutes
-stay out of penalty trouble
...and we;re gonna win game three and most likely the series

I was very wary, even with our 2-0 lead, I knew Jersey was gonna come out on fire...I just expected our team to be a little more resistant defensively. lke i said on the other board, i thought brodeur was gonna have to steal one for jersey to win game three...not a 4-2 'shootout'

and robert esche has a terrible GAA to show for amazing work in net, the save on pandolfo where he kicked the puck away was great.

18k and change in a 19,040 Arena in the middle of a swamp, doesn't exactly suck.

Not to mention that NJ has now played 189 playoff games, while Nashville was playing their 3rd (and 1st at home). Oh yeah, Nashville is also a city.

Didn't look like there was "18k and change" in that arena.
