Yep, trying to get the crowd to these weekend afternoon games. Personally I still hate them, they remain the bane of my existance. Although that's mostly because I work 6:30am to 7:30pm on the weekends so there's no way I'd make it shy of a shootout going to round 2,759.
Good news is this one isn't blacked out on Gamecenter Live so I can watch it without having to find an atdhe feed.
We haven't looked as god awful as what we saw yesterday. Hell we might actually take a lead for once, although that's mostly a product of not having Leight-up-for-6 in net.
Damn nice save by Nabokov on Jokinen, that was actually a shot that might have scored rather then hit the goalie in the chest.
HOLY CRAP, HIGHWAY ROBBERY ON PITKANEN, didn't get enough on that deflection.
Excellent shift by the 4th line (Kostopoulos - Sutter - LaRose). I really like that line and as much as I'd rather see Sutter on a higher line, if it works and Maurice gives them more than 5 minutes a game, it could be a good energy line for us that can add something. Maybe this will help LaRose get back to his roots and bring the energy we need from him every shift and game. As much as i'd like to see Sutter in Albany with the other kids, he's here and it looks like he's staying so I mise well stop my complaints on that issue. Atleast the kid is looking good and has looked to have made some nice strides in the past year - most notably in his offensive game, he seems much more confident in handling the puck and what to do when he has it. Also I like the way he jumps into the play. All in all i'm pretty happy with Sutter right now.
Can't say it looks like they've turned it around yet, but they don't look like pure garbage which is a significant upgrade over how they have been looking for the past month.
I can live with that 1st period. All lines seem to be rolling and focused. Can't get to far ahead of myself as i've said similar things in the past only for the team to blow it and be down a quick 2-0 or 3-0 before the 10 minute mark of the 2nd. All in all, good period and here's hoping we can play the next 40 like we played the first 20. If we do that, we have a chance.
Yep. Or damn close to it. That's the Canes team we all know and want to see blown up. First one was all Ward, that one was all the defense and their failure to clear the zone.
And what do you know, Sutter scores to give us a lift (second beauty in as many games) only for us to get a softy scored on us in return.
Brandon Sutter just has me thrilled right now. In that kids mind, there is no damn way he's happy and content being a 4th liner with a limited offensive game. Props to the kid.
Lovely, 2-1 Sharks and now a PP coming up. And so it begins, all over again.
At least when the other teams scores we're getting lit up by the likes of Kent Huskins, and Brad Staubitz.
Yeah I mean who wants to get lit up by a former top 15 pick when there's a guy that got drafted with a pick number over 10 times that and a guy that was never even drafted and is known mostly for fights?
