If Jake cuts his hair at all this season, I will protest. The hair combined with the 16 lbs of muscle he put on makes him look like an absolute beast and monster on the ice.

Ive never been let down so much . . . . .
Protest? What's wrong with you. Where's your big sword and your urge to kill young women alongside a lake?

to paraphrase:

KZ, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent poll request were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I blame this thread for why I haven't been around lately and why the Carry The Avatar album has not been updated.

It's all this thread's fault. Has absolutely nothing to do with work, home management, parents returning to town, birthday celebrations, or computer meltdowns. It's all this thread.

Y'all should be ashamed.

Looks like Jake cut his hair. Anyone have a pic yet? I can't tell how short it is.

Per Puck-Rakers

Voracek arrived at the rink yesterday with considerably shorter hair. The Czech winger said he was told by Hitchcock to trim his distinctive blonde mane.
Ya know, this isn't some Wall Street crook, lawyer or accountant. This is a hockey player. Let him keep his hair however the heck he wants it. Anybody remember Recci's hair of years ago. He always reminded me of Geddie Lee of Rush in his earlier days.

C'mon Hitch, worry about what's important - the product on the ice not the locks on one of your best and most consistent players.

In a system that requires structure and buy-in, you can't have some maverick player want to wear his hair all crazy. Pretty soon his teammates are getting the message that they can wear their hair all crazy too.

Why don't they follow Hitch's example while they're at it and gain 200 lbs

If you ask me, being massively overweight looks just as "unprofessional" as having long hair.

What freaking difference does hair make in the ability to play the game. They all wear the same uniform for "structure". Hair has nothing to do about it. They are playing a game, not sitting in some stodgy board room figuring out how to bilk millions of people out of their money.

Or that they can go back to Russia.

This is Ken Hitchcock's team. Its his way or a 747 to Siberia.

This isn't the Marine Corps where you have to chop someone down and build them back from scratch. At least it's not supposed to be.

I fail to see the correlation between hair length and on-ice play, especially from a guy who is one of our best players this year

League leaders in points:

Kopitar 32
Gaborik 25
Perry 24
Nash 24
Marleau 24

What do they all have in common? Short hair.

I thought it was that 80% of them don't play for Hitch

So by that analagy, the less hair the better. Bald would be best. So I guess Chimmer, Malhotra, Brashear etc. are due for some really hot streaks coming up.

Exactly. Athletes need to be proper role models for our society. Think of the children!

It is more important to have short hair than win games or perform well.
