What's gotten into Willie Coetzee?

Most importantly, he passes the "eye-ball test." Watching him in the Rebels vs Tigers game tonight, I can't believe he wasn't drafted. The kid looks like 2nd line talent for sure, maybe even top line. He even plays quaterback on the powerplay.

With all the talk about the Wing's draft picks, I think its time Willie got some respect.

Oh, it seems Ken Holland is in attendance. I'm sure he's enjoying the game.

edit: I hope Willie isn't just playing above his head. I think he could just be hyped about his new contract with the Wings and playing beyond his talent. I hope not, I hope he's the real deal because he looks great. He coulda had a nice goal in the third if (what's his name) hadn't fanned on the pass.

edit: I think he's on pace for over 130 points. How much might he drop off that pace by the end of the year? I hope not much

You mean Holland is out at Red Deer? Makes sense though seeing the team is in Alberta. A little detour from the drive down to Calgary from Edmonton?

Here's a recent RWC article on Coetzee. I think the Wings have another steal with this kid.

Also note that Mitchell Callahan has 9 pts is 9 games so far-- and 25 PIMs. He's acting like a higher pick!

Unbelievable start to the season he is off to. Another 3 point night tonight. 11 game point streak, 25 points in the 11 games this month. 9 multi point games.

And I'm pumped to see Wings #1 prospect (

Kyle from BDS wrote a good bit about him on http://www.wingingitinmotown.com/ today. I am pretty psyched about this kid, I remember hearing somewhere WHL was the best Canadian league, is this true?

Its probably the toughest league to put up points in.. So what he's doing is extremely impressive..
