I want to see him with Zubrus and Bergfors as soon as he is ready to play in a game. Reunite ZZPops also, and we have two deadly scoring lines.

The PP should also get a huge boost from having Patty back.

I agree. So long as he can't hurt himself (and I don't think he can) I think he'll be playing by the end of the week. Even if he doesn't have the stamina, Elias at 80% is still better than most of our team. Likely at this point he just needs to get his legs back.

I just wouldn't want him to strain himself, though. We've got this far, might as well make sure he's in tip-top shape.

As far as Im concerned, whatever Lemaire comes up with the top-9, Im hoping he sticks to it for a while instead of constant shuffling.

You're going to be disappointed. Lemaire shuffles, that's just what he does.

If it continues to work, I'm fine with it. Elias will undoubtedly be a boost to whichever line Lemaire puts him on.

Langenbrunner isn't practicing and there's speculation he might be nursing something.

Wouldn't be surprised. He's been productive, but still a little slow.

He's also been in a pissy mood all season.

It could be something lingering from that knee surgery he had last season during the playoffs. He came back insanely fast from that.

It'll be nice if Pikkarainen can continue to improve.

Great, Elias in, Jamie out. It sure would be nice to see what we could do with a full squad, but I guess injuries are part of the game.

I don't think Jamie will miss a game. He's just sitting out of practise. He should be in the game on Wednesday, though Elias almost certainly won't be.

What I'd like to see down the road for this team:

Parise - Zajac - Langenbrunner
Elias - Zubrus - Bergfors
Rolston - Trade - Clarkson
Pandolfo - Niedermayer - Pikka/PL3/Pelley

I mean, he obviously has the talent to put up at least modest numbers like he did in Finland. If you ask me, it was a confidence issue to start.

That's my guess.

He's been able to do conditioning for a while, so I think he may play on Friday.

And he's been good with Zubrus in the past, so I'm hoping for:

PZL
Elias-Zubrus-Bergfors
Rolston-Nieds-Clarkson
PL3-Pelley-Pikachu

I like that Elias is practising at left wing today, instead of centre. Zubrus has pleasantly surprised early this season, making it unnecessary at the moment to use Patty at centre as was originally the plan. I hope it is good for his production.

Plus Pik missed most of camp too. I think that had alot to do with it as well. The whole team, especially Marty, did not seem ready the first 2 games of the season, like 5 pre season games wasn't enough. Pik got into one I think so that probably had alot to do with him trying to find his groove as well.

TG has more now, Lemaire expects Elias back in a game by this weekend against NYI or Ottawa:

“There’s back-to-back games, so one game would be great to jump in and just to get my feet wet a little bit,” he said. “Then, we have three more practices after that. That would be a perfect scenario, but, like I said, nobody has said a word. We haven’t talked about it. For me, it was good to get out there and not really feel much with the leg.”

When I asked Lemaire how long it would take for Elias to be ready, he replied, “The latest by the weekend, I would say. The LATEST by the weekend. It won’t be long. We’ll go day to day because he could make a huge improvement from one day to another and then he’s ready to play.”
Lemaire is also noncommittal about playing Elias on Wednesday, but I think it's unreasonable to expect him back by then. He had to sit out the end of practise today because he's lost some conditioning and didn't have the stamina. We shouldn't rush him.

Agreed whole heartedly. No need to shift Elias to center right now.

I like -

Parise - Zubrus - Langs
Elias - Zajac - Bergfors/Clarkson

Not crazy about Zubes on our first line, but he works hard, and we would have 2 legit scoring lines.

He pulled his ... on those 3 shootout breakaways against Tampa.
