Cam Ward

Both the Blues and the Canes are struggling. How about a blockbuster trade to shake things up. The Blues are still in need of a game breaking goalie and the Canes need a lot of help in other places. Heres an idea the Blues send Mason, Cola, Ian Cole and 1st round pick to the Canes for Cam Ward. Your thoughts are appreciated, GO BLUES.

The Canes just signed Ward to an extension a month ago (I think).

Goaltending has not really been the problem, we can't win with 0 goals.

Edit: Ewwwww! Wards cap hit goes to 6.3 after this year for at least the next six years...

This trade is so unlikely, I did it about two months ago in NHL10 on be a gm.

Mason, Cracknall and Porter for Ward and Brind'amor.

If only x-box was real life.

Goaltending is probably the last issue for the Blues this season. While a trade to shake things up is a possibility, I don't see how this could possibly help. (I do really like Cam Ward, though, and Carolina won't part with him I'd wager.)

There is no way that package gets us Cam Ward. It would take more like one of our young roster players, plus a 1st round pick, plus another high-end prospect.

I would love to see the Blues finally get a top goaltender. But our duo of Mason and Conklin is doing fine. Goaltending is not the problem now. We need scoring.

How about Boyes for Jordan Staal, or Alexander Frolov? LA could throw in a pick if Boyes is worth more than Frolov alone.

We could get both if we add Boyes.
