I've actually wanted him for a couple years now. I think we should pick him up. He could really help in the faceoff circle.

Wouldn't mind. At the very least, his shootout moves are beautiful, simple and extremely effective.

Probably worth taking a flyer on, atleast for right now and until the injury and illness situations sort themselves out. He's kind of like Brodziak in that he's soft as kleenex, but he can actually skate decently and has more talent. Good temp. fill-in.

It's pretty low risk. He makes all of 750k, easily waived again if he doesn't work out. He might actually clear the second time, which maybe gives us another quality player for the farm.

Unless he's really matured since junior I wouldn't touch the kid...when he was traded from the Blazers the entire team was so happy, I guess he was just a terrible, horrible teammate, and a total cancer in the dressing room during his days out here. That said, he does have some skill, and if that attitude has changed then I wouldn't be opposed to taking him.

Maybe its me, but I don't see anything special in him.....
Never really developed .... doesn't really hit from what I read. At 25 years of age I don't see why. He's good at Faceoffs, and isn't a small player? ....

A guy like Bett's has more value and does the same thing plus kill PK .....

Best case senario - Oilers pick him up and he plays well enough to get rid of someone else when they are healthy (MAP)

Worst Case senario - Oilers pick him up and he doesnt displace one of Nilsson or MAP then we put him back on waivers and either he gets a shot on another team or he helps out a bad Springfield team.

Really bad senario - Calgary gets him and he plays really good.

Usually I don't care for these, but I think the Oilers should go for him.

The guy scored 18 goals 2 years ago, maybe he can re-capture that scoring touch? Him, O'Sullivan and Gagner could be a pretty dangerous shootout combo.

We should totally grab him. I have liked him for years. I don't normally jump on the waiver bandwagon, but this time I am.

I don't see it. He's no different than Nilsson, and I don't want Nilsson on the roster in the first place. Pass.

he's complete garbage.. stunk in atlanta, now stinking it up in anaheim.. neither team is particularly deep so they needed this guy yet he's dissapointed..

so what exactly kind of role do you think he'd be so great for this team?..

The obsession about face-offs continues.

He's good on the dot, but he is as big a liability defensively as they come, and soft, not really something we need more of.

In that's the case I think he'd fit right in with this sad sack bunch. Would be pretty hard to be worse than Nilsson, Cogliano or O'Sully right now, so the more the merrier! Can't have too many second-rate top 9 players who wouldn't throw a hit to save their life.

I didnt know that Nilsson was over 6ft and 200lbs? Christensen has a wicked wrist shot from what i can remember. Do it and waive pouliot.

He wins faceoffs and isn't a $2M cap hit.

YES we should grab him. We need more soft forwards who are supposed to be scorers but don't score and aren't very good in their own end either. It's a bonus that he has a reputation of being a selfish player who is not liked by his teammates.

NO THANKS! Let's not grab more of the same and make a move just to make a move.

I won't lose any sleep over this. I'd rather see what O'Marra could do now that he seems to be on track.

Is he Springfield's shutdown centre? 3 points in 13 games isn't too impressive.

I don't think he'd be relied on for points there or in Edmonton, but he's probably someone who can add more balance to the line-up. I don't think anyone was hoping for Christensen to come here and be a top six guy either though.
