How can you not appreciate a 3rd pairing defenseman who is leading the team in plus minus (+10) with a nickname like 44 Double D?

As someone who was at the game and watch the "kiss cam" moment I have to tell you that I love when players are good sports! Great moment and your team played great. Tough loss for us but honestly credit has to go to your team because they just wouldn't let us get anything going.

LoL at that video. I'm glad to see the kids having fun - they're really growing together. Put Chelios and another oldie in that exact same situation and they just ignore it.

Calling a time out at a critical turn in momentum is critical. The best coaches know this and read the game. I think he has been out coached in a few of our games already this year. Is he a better coach them me hell yes. Is he the best coach hell no.

Also in regards to a SC contender, he may have been the coach but the talent was there. A coach gets the most out of his players. He did not take a less talented group of players and get them there. He took a good team that was supposed to be contending there. Somewhat along the lines of Crawford in my mind. (he is way better then crawfish though)
There haven't been many SC winners without talent. You want to win - you need to have quality. Without real quality, you can do amazing runs, but to be really good, quality is needed.

Before the season the predictions were "no playoffs" so I think he is utilizing the quality pretty well.

I also might disagree with a certain move he makes, but that doesn't mean I think that his way is necessarily wrong. Overall I think he is the right coach for this particular team. Overreacting doesn't lead you anywhere, I prefer his calm, but firm stance. He knows what he is doing and that is all I am asking for.

And if he does a mistake here and there - who doesn't?

Let me clarify. Murray does have a good track record. He also has a system in place that does appear to be very sound. I guess when I question his coaching it is his bench coaching that I call into question. On the fly I do not think he is good.

Also, I can't believe I didn't give huge credit to my favorite King. Drew with an amazing game. Like everyone else mentioned, his hipchecks the past 3 games have been out of this world. He makes everything look so easy. And 2nd in scoring (dmen)...amazing. Can this kid get any better?

I liked his timeout call from couple of games ago, before Kings went to PP. The PP goal that followed was very important. Correct TO call. My opinion is, that TM seems to be quite good in the locker room, between the periods. And that is enough when team is doing this good AND it is only regular season. It would be very hard for me to judge any ice hockey coach based on when he does or doesn't take time out. The coach sees and knows so many more things that I do (sees the game better, lives with the bench, hears conversation between players, conversation between coaching staff etc.) that I could almost never say when is the correct moment to take or not to take the time out. I liked the TO that I mentioned but that's all.

Ivanans/Clune - Richardson - Purcell/Harrold

I am less and less impressed with Purcell. I know Fox was pointing out his hustle and getting his feet going vs VAN, but still thought he had a lackluster game. Last night was more of the same. Seems like he's got the hustle and the vision, but he's inconsisitent with getting a good play on the puck.

And two players I'm really starting to love - Parse and Drewiskie. Drewiskie especially. I'd like to see him get some time on the first PP unit and knock Stoll down to the second. Just to see what happens. The reason being that Drewskie has a perfect PP shot - hard, on net, and less than 6" off the ice. Plus he's looked excellent at piching the puck in the zone the last few games.

We're 15 games in and I'm still telling myself that it's early and not to get too excited, but man are we looking good lately.
Im glad Murray "bobbled" lines around. The Fro/Zeus/Brown line was ASLEEP until things got moved around!!

No kidding. I could have sworn I hardly even saw them on the ice for the longest time.

Jack and Drew on the kiss cam was probably the highlight of the game for the yotes fan.

Seriously. The hip checks he has been throwing have been awesome....the one last night was picture perfect technique.

I think they were cheering most of the second period. Yotes outplayed the Kings for 20 minutes.
