Elias is on the ice for the morning skate. TG still doesn't know whether he will play tonight, but I'm thinking he won't.

http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/f...morning_skate/

Halischuk, who was recalled today, is skating. The shot club is doing its thing.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing them wear their white jerseys for this one. Regardless, even without Ovechkin the Caps have a TON of offense. The defense will be put to the test in this one. Lets see how they respond.

Go Devils!

As much as I love the guy, I don't want to see Elias in the lineup tonight. I don't want to see what happend to Gomez a couple of seasons ago when he came back a little early and was sidelined for another month or so.

Let him rest another week and make him practice more then a couple of days to make sure that he's more then "Ok". With all the injurys we have at the present moment, whe can't afford a steback in his situation.

Oh yeah... LET'S GO DEVILS !!!

I wish.

The Red jerseys are way more intimidating on the road and we haven't done jack **** since they changed over.

It's unusual IMO to see a coach like Lemaire give the guys an option on game day. I guess he figures maybe less work will make for a win?

Or maybe he sees that certain players who are expected to play "big minutes" tonight, need to rest so they can perform without running out of breath half way through the second period.

Who knows...

WOW... Oduya has 0 pts in 11 games and Fraser has 1 goal and 1 assist in 4 games !!! Rolston has 4 pts in 12 games and is the only forward playing on one of the top 3 lines with less then 6 pts and on top of that he's getting PP minutes on the 1st unit.

Those two guys need to pick it up BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADLY.

I think this is what it is. Since we're still trying to limit Murphy and Fraser's minutes, our top 4 defencemen will all have to play 25+ minutes to cover. So there's no sense in them wasting energy in a morning skate that's optional.

Pretty much expected. I guess Lemaire and Lou balked at the idea of having Peters and PL3 on the ice at the same time against a team that's actually good and can take advantage. The Caps have a far superior fourth line, so even if the fourth lines are only played against each other, having two goons play together would be a bad idea.

Peters is the scratch tonight. I'm glad we aren't allowing him to play against good teams. Maybe management is starting to see the light.

I guess Lemaire thought Elias would be ready and sent Halischuk down. Turns out he's not, so Halischuk is back.

TG says Varlamov is starting for Washington tonight, although Boudreau hasn't confirmed:

That light was as bright as a tanning bed bulb since day 1. Not sure how they couldn't see it.
