And now for something completely different Canes @ Florida

For the first time since 2003, Carolina won't have a Staal in the lineup. We'll see how they react to that one.

Canes also have several things going for them in this game. Every other 9 game streak in franchise history, good or bad, has been stopped. Florida has a chance to set the franchise record that, coincidentally, began right after a 7-2 win over the Panthers. Is that good or bad? Probably bad, since Florida is just as bad as Carolina and Carolina likes to lose to bad teams.

I don't predict many games, but Canes win 4-1.

Game is at 7:30 on FSN

I agree, 4-1. Samsonov hattrick and a Larose empty netter.

It will be interesting to see if the Bank Atlantic Center is even remotely full, they gave away free lower level tickets to this game. And we thought our attendance was bad

We really need to win this one for my sanity. Anything less than two big, fat, juicy points and I will be exceedingly irate. Even if we are gonna tank, there still shouldn't be any excuse to loose to the freaking kitty cats. However, I'm guessing after our five diving calls, we once again will have trouble getting any kind of momentum. I'm sorry..... what's momentum?

This is a huge couple of games if we're going to ever come anywhere close to righting this ship before things get out of hand.

Perhaps with Staal out the rest of the team will pick up their effort?

Wallin with a natural hat-trick and we win 8-7. I'm no good making predictions, so I'm just going to make it as ridiculous as possible.

Ok, I'm in on the predictions... I used tho think it was bad mojo, but since we've got all of that we can have, here goes- Hurricanes 5, Panthers 2.

PS: I WANNA SEE THE MONKEYS!!!

Canes lose 2-1

Florida goals: Seidenberg, Stillman
Canes goal: Sutter

Cole and Ruutu get called for diving since they are the ones who can't stay on their skates so they must be diving.

ok well normally i can watch the game using direct tv sports package, but for some reason, both the Canes feed AND Panthers feed says "channel not purchased" even though i always watch it on there, and the other channels in the package work......anyone else having problems?

Sutter with a great shift there. Seriously, why he's not starting off on our 2nd line right now is beyond me.

Samsonov with a one-timer? who is that and what did they do with Sammy?

Somebody has clearly ordered Samsonov to start shooting.

Same old story here. We are coming out like gangbusters but no one can finish and any moment now the Panthers will score a majorly deflating goal or two.

Anyone want to guess our team shooting percentage this year?

I would imagine we're pretty high on total shots in the NHL, and the bottom in goals scored.

Amazing how many shots we get with no results.........at all.
