that is great news. i was hoping he wouldve made the team this year. he is a great upgrade from that of crombeen, winchester, and janssen. hopefully he gets significant ice time and produces and stays with the team.

I'm stoked to see what all the hype is about, but keeping my expectations low since he probably won't get much ice time and it is his first game.

He's been called up as an emergency replacement for Andy McDonald. So, he will need to return to Peoria when McDonald returns to the ice. But, I hope he plays so well, that The Blues soon make room for him.

Who's he gonna play with?

I hope he's with Backes. Maybe they'll jump start each other.

Can someone clarify the deal with this being an "emergency" call-up?

Since he's on his entry level deal I thought waivers were a moot point anyway. Why would this matter? I don't understand the statement that he'd have to go back when McDonald returns. Actually, I guess I don't believe it until someone can explain that better to me.

I realize someone has to move to make room for McDonald on the roster, but I don't see why it wouldn't be Winchester. Or maybe Boyes. Or Kariya (yeah, I'm just half-kidding).

I'm pumped! I'm going to have to see if I can get off work early tomorrow to make it up to the game.
What a great article, the kid says all the right things. Seems like a good kid.

I think it has more to do with roster spots / forward spots available than anything close to waivers or contract types.

i.e. they have to send someone down to keep McDonald and Eller on the team because they already have so many d-men on the roster we don't have the extra forward spot to sit one.

I just reallllllly hope there is a decent stream available tonight since I'm pretty sure our lovely Fox Sports Midwest Station brought to us by the wonderful Mediacom company won't be showing it.

4th. AM is not the type of coach to give an unproven rookie like Eller more icetime than a veteran like McClemment.

I don't think this is going to be quite the experience for Eller that some of you are hoping for/expecting.

Walter don't be surprised to see Eller get some PP time to try to help to get it jump started.

If Pie plays the young nucleus will really be on display tonight:

Eller, Perron, Berglund, Oshie and old man Backes up front

Pie, Johnson, Polak on D

What would be so wrong with putting Eller on the 4th line? I'd be content to see him playing with McClement and Crombeen. The question is whether or not he takes a regular shift with those guys or not- ie, does he get the Cam Janssen treatment where they only put him out there for the odd shift.

My guess is he skates with Tkachuk.

Matt

That's going to be a great two-way line.

This is a nice move to get Berglund going. You have Eller's enthusiasm and adrenaline, Oshie's constant tenacity and a motivated and excited Berglund. I bet they create a goal during the game, especially as Kiprusoff isn't playing (allegedly).

Not watching:

Is the box score accurate? 7 seconds on the PP and 1 goal?

Impressive!

Eller fought hard to keep his position in front of the net, formed the screen, and Johnson's one-timer banked off his shoulder, straight into the net.
