Honestly, the Kings only needed average goaltending to beat the Canucks. Quick was well below average in the series.

Kovalchuk +Bernier would be huge for the Kings next season.

Everyone says that it is only thr AHL, but Bernier gave up 2 goals in the third of game 4 to lose it and he came back with 58 saves on 59 shots in games 5 & 6. That is stepping up for your team. Quick fell apart after the collapse in game 4 for the Kings.

Even just Bernier would be a significant upgrade.

The reasonable ones there were here aren't. But there are plenty of "OMG we'll never win with Bettman in charge" "The reffing is a disgrace" etc. posts.

It's clearly not the team playing like crap. Byfuglien reverse-head-butted Burrows' stick, I'm sure. Must be Gary Bettman and the ref brigade...

Can't wait till they're out!

Trash being thrown on the ice after that loss just brought warmth and joy to my heart

Only fans I see do that with any regularity. Both games they threw food and drinks at the Hawks players. Unbelievable. Chanting "refs you suck" instead of "go Canucks go" when their team is down by a goal... some fans.

What's amazing to me is that Canucks fans thought their atrocious PK vs. the Kings was just going to somehow magically disappear vs. the Hawks. Same ****, different series. The difference is the Hawks have the 5 on 5 scoring to boot.

Chicago just did something the Kings couldn't do...take a 3-1 series lead against Vancouver.

Vancouver is weak, weak, weak. I haven't been playing that close of attention, but it is my understanding that Chicago is lighting up Vancounver's PK, just like the Kings did.

Any team with that weak of a PK doesn't deserve to get past the first round. They did only because their opponent was inexperienced.

Wait until next year, Canucks. I hope we get you again. This time, the result will be different.

I am hoping that Hawks put them out of their misery on Sunday night. What kind of playoff team plays defense like that????

Vancouver is pathetic...they blow game 2 and can't recover at all. Lose both at home. Chicago is showing their superiority.

Vancouver taking terrible penalties. This might be the most undisciplined team in the playoffs this year. No, scratch that. They are the most undisciplined team in the playoffs this year.

And of course, when they take a penalty, a power play goal cannot be far behind. I have never seen a team so abused on the PK. And I have been watching hockey for 43 years, LOL.

The Kings got a favorable match-up in Round 1... just couldn't get it done 5 on 5. Chicago's got enough offense 5 on 5 to handle them easily.

Niemi was poo tonight and they still won. Not a good sign for Vancouver.

You just hit the nail on the head.

If we had a better 5 on 5 in Vancouver, it would be us getting hammered by San Jose, not Detroit.

The Canucks screwed themselves because instead of trying to win the game they gooned it up.

They were clearly more concerned with taking dumb retaliation penalties on Byfuglien than winning the games.

Dress players like O'Brien and Rypien for "toughness" and you are asking for what happened last night.

exactly. you could tell the canucks were off their game when one of the sedins got into a tussle with bolland while they were down 2-0 and about to go on the power play. that was in game 2 or 3, can't remember which.

Pitt is really laying the body tonight. Crosby is already getting into Subban's head, Subban will take probably 2 stupid penalties tonight. Good game so far.....

The first scoreless period in the Sharks series tonight.

Rafalski just scored to make it 1-0 Detroit.

This third period will be EPIC!

On the one hand, I like the Sharks. On the other, I abhor Blake. Such irreconcilable conflict.
