How they react? Are you serious? What are they going to do? Force teams to trade with them? Nothing happens now until the trade deadline. As you are so fond of reminding everyone, the Calvary isnt coming.

What happened to Andrew Cogliano? He looks absolutely lost out there. Are we ready to give up on him?

news flash, your actually wrong about more things then you are right about.

The oilers will not be out of the playoffs race by month's end.

Why did I reply to another post? DSF is like a raven who just starts to hover when something looks like it might die.

I'd be a little more excited if Quinn was Manager instead of coach.

The shakeup needs to happen in the inertia that infects this whole org.

I have never been that high on cogs, I think he is a 20-20-40 point player.

Gags on the other hand is the real deal. At 20 he has shown he can on some nights be a number one C, that means by the time he is 25 he will be one.

I guess I don't understand this. You're willing to give Quinn more than a month, most people are. But you want the players to produce wins right now? Isn't that more than a little illogical?

If The Mighty Quinn needs time to figure out his team, don't you think the players need time to figure out their team/coach/new system, too?

wasnt able to watch the game tonight, though from everyones responses it seems like i was better off not watching it. The thing that sticks out most is all the moreau comments, this guy is brutal. I could never really stand this guy, and i couldnt believe it when he inherited the captaincy.....

what do you think the odds are of this schmuck being stripped of the C and it being given to someone who will actually do something with it. Id like to see souray with the C, but with his injuries i could see the reservations associated with handing it over to him

I expect they could deal Hemsky, Visnovsky, Gilbert or Grebs almost anytime

If you listen closely to Quinn, you'll hear he's already figured out he doesn't have the horses to compete.

Do you disagree?

With Tambellini now in full control of the team, the time will come soon enough where he will need to be accountible for what's going on just like everyone else.

Could get very interesting here within 12 months on the management side.

To me this is pretty clear.

I think he knew it from Game 1.

Those are the guys you keep. You get rid of Moreau, Pisani, Nilsson, Grebeshkov/Gilbert. Unless the return is phenomenal I cant see how trading Visnovsky or Hemsky helps us in any way.

Tambo's is on the clock right now. To stay with the status quo shouldn't cut it. Even the untrained eye can see who the weak links are right now.

Visnovsky won't be around when the Oilers are competitive and Hemsky's sweetheart contract will have expired.

Neither Gilbert or Grebs would be a huge loss at this point IMO.

All depends on the return.

He is way to slow to do anything. He had to be clubbed over the head just to get rid of Mactavish. I dont see him doing anything other than a token move or two at the deadline.

DSF would love to see the Oil in the bottom five.

How does a personal attack further the conversation?

I've been an Oiler fan for a very long time and would like to see the team headed in the right direction.

Do you have an issue with that?

You know Dsf, it isnt about being around for the magical cup run that might not ever come, it is about mentoring the young players and building their confidence. If you get rid of anyone that is worth a damn for youth/prospects then you are no farther ahead. They just wont develop worth a crap if there isnt a decent environment for them to do so.

Obviously the little smilie didn't tip you off that I was being facetious.

Anyway, yeah, it does bug me. I assume that I'm a lot younger than you but I'm still sick of waiting for the team to turn the corner. However, I don't think that finishing low in the standings for four-five years is the answer. Not in his market.

I don't think Tambellini has be completely inept. He did turn Garon into Stone and a pick and got good value for the UFA in Erik Cole. The fact he didn't wait to replace MacT was also a positive.

That said, I completely agree that there are defecencies on this club that still haven't been addressed, but it fair to ask what exactly is the best way to address them.
