Hopefully it's just a maintenance day, as he appeared to be alright towards the end of last nights game.

From Habs I/O:

- O'Byrne skating hard, expected to be back by the end of the month but the Habs hope sooner.
- Gionta has another "therapy day."
- Spacek is practicing.

Bad news. Good news.

Just a therapy day for Gio though like last time. Hopefully he suits up again Saturday, we always need his offense.

Good news in that Andrei is getting to see the rewards for his improved play. His ice time is up, his quality of play is up, and I loved seeing him talk to the youngsters last night and seemed encouraging and happy and informative. That was great.

I hope Martin gives him a top 6 role next game. God knows we could use the offense and I think the message has been very well delivered and received. I think Andrei is a different breed from his brother and he will improve from this, not run/whine like a child.

Good to hear that Spacek is on the ice. I thought for sure he'd be getting a "therapy day".

Thanks for the update.

I would be VERY surprised in AKost wasn't on one of the top two lines on Saturday. I think the message Martin was sending him finally got thru. I expect a great game from him tomorrow.

Also good to hear O'bryne is coming along. We are going to need all the defensive help. Scary to think what our d lineup would look like without Spacek in there.

Give Andrei to Gomez and Cammalleri.
Give Gionta to Plekanec.

Plekanec would benefit from playing with someone who can follow him speed wise, they were playing nice hockey in preseason together.

Might actually be worth a try. At this point in time, Gomez has not more chemistry with Gionta than with Cammalleri anyways.

The 3 together makes for a very nice line. But if you got to move someone to the 2nd line, it might actually be much better for Plekanec to try Gionta there.

More from I/O, practice lines:

Cammalleri-Gomez-Kostitsyn
Latendresse-Plekanec-Lapierre
Pyatt-Chipchura-White
Moen-Metropolit-Pacioretty

(Not necessarily in that order or the proper wings)

...but considering that in all 4 on 4 situations they play Gionta with Gomez and Cammy with Plek, I would assume they are looking at keeping Gionta and Gomez together.

I hope for the game the line up will be

Cammalleri-Gomez-Kostitsyn
Latendresse-Plekanec-Gionta
Pyatt-Lapierre-White
Moen-Metropolit-Pacioretty

but I have feeling that Kostitsyn will not be on a top line saturday

Not really surprised,I mean that rocket he took from Cammalleri on his foot is lucky not to have broken anything,He will play just skip a couple of practices.

Kostitsyn should be on the 2nd line tomorrow and hopefully he keeps playing hard like he did yesterday

I don't know. I don't think they'd be wasting their time having him practice with Cammalleri and Gomez if they didn't intend for him to be part of the top 6 Saturday, but I could be wrong.

And I like your lines. I'd try to re-insert Chipchura, however, and obviously the Metropolit line would be the 3rd.

I agree.

But i believe Gomez-Cammalleri and Plekanec-Gionta might just looks as good or even better.

Yep it did. Martin handled the situation properly. So much for ruining his confidence. Sometimes people seem to think they 4 year old kids. Andrei came here to play against men at 19 years old and has always been handled this way. He needed to be reminded things he already know. Props to Martin. He is not perfect but boy ho boy he doesn't take shizit from anybody. Yet he is rewarding you when you give a ****. Jacques MF Martin is the man.

I don't think so. Jamie Leach was Reggie's son. He's 30 years old and was claimed from the Devils. Like's to take penalties anyways.

Not sure how he would have reacted had he been skratched.

His brother though, if we take Boucher's word for what it is, is handling himself quite well in AHL. He's just disappointed in not having a fair chance to make our team, especially after being told he would have one. He just felt let down.

Sergei's ethic still needs to be worked on, but improvements are there from what we were told.

The Kost broz could be an integral part of our offense come dec-jan. If they can click well with a great Plek, it would make our team that much more dangerous. Add that to the fact O'Byrne will be back and hopefully playing well. Markov should be close to a return by then so it could change the face of our team completely.

AK on the RW with a C and a LW! wow thats see this in a game!
Gionta with Pleks might be what the doctor ordered, with lats infront of the net?
Metro with laps and Moen on the third line seems pretty fierce
Who's left for our fourth tho?

Still early in the season. Adjustments can be made.

Gionta and Plek was the hottest duo in PreSeason. I know it means very little, but if you want to spread the offense around, might as well try it out.

its possible that akost plays as a top 6 on saturday but there were still times on thursday where akost had martin shaking his head on the bench. Watching him compete in the defensive zone is not very fun, but at least he's getting more physical on the other side of the ice.
