Torts on Drury:

"It's a missed call. He's concussed."

you know guys when i see the rangers work hard and create scoring chances by forechecking hard i feel "satisfied" even with tonight's loss...the effort is there. We ran into a great goalie(he's good), and i'm fine with it. Its games like in vancouver, long island and minnesota that mesmerizes me coz the effort really sucked. Also on another subject, P.J Stock from CBC says "a lot" of injuries(serious) tonight....so it be a full moon.

DAMMIT.

HATE concussions. I sincerely hope he's OK. We all saw how it affected players like Shanny, Lafontaine, Lindros. Best of luck to Drury.

Third, this issue is larger than carrying an enforcer. It's about team wide toughness and it needs to be addressed.

The only notable time Orr ever went after anyone other than a heavyweight was his hit on Ovechkin which coincidentally was in response to Brash and the Caps running around. I'm not some staunch Brashear defender but it's ~20 games into the season and the enforcer role isn't the issue.

Fair enough, we can wait to see what Brashear does. Obviously his signing was an admission that the team needs toughness.
Concerning Orr, I would have to go into research mode to find who he fought and why.
I guess I just liked Orr a lot more than Brashear. I'm letting my lack of respect for Brashear colour my opinion.

It's sad to see the team had a problem tonight in which there was nobody willing to do something. On that I can agree with you.

OK, I saw the replay on the Glencross hit, IMO it was "somewhat" cheap, the reason I say somewhat is it didn't seem very hard and it could be said that Glencross thought the puck was going to Drury...In the end it was a blindshot hit so I'll say 2 games...Hope Drury will be ok and not miss much time.

Hopefully Dub won't be out much either(In my pool) but I suspect thats a broken hand.

Indeed.

Is there even any center in Hartford that's ready to step in?

The Rangers may have to sign Forsberg now...

What's with the Vally hate?

In all honesty, I didn't even see the puck go in the goal on the replay. Not only did it not matter (because we didn't score anyway), but I feel that goal was ALL on Staal.

Bad play, bad giveaway.

Can we not give credit to the way the Flames played (especially Kipper)? Kipper was phenomenal. We didn't win due to injuries, bad turnovers (coughcoughStaal), a bad call by the referee (ppg), and our inability to score on chances (Dubi, Cally, Kotalik).

this team is going to kill me the way they make me drink.

i've never gotten so drunk, so fast.

anyways, what a terrible effort. aside from the powerplay they boasted one good shift imo the shift where avery held the puck in deep but neither of his line mates got open to help him cycle.

that glencross hit on drury was bs, sucks to hear that he's concussed. dubi's hand is definitely broken.

I've never been so frustrated over one game. good thing they have off til thursday because they need it.

I just really don't understand this view. They had the Flames running around in their own zone, the forecheck was very well done.
I thought it was one of the best efforts by the Rangers this season.

I was at the game tonight. Good effort. You could see the loss of Dubi and Drury starting to take the toll on legs of the forward lines.

Gabby is ridiculous with the puck. Kipper just had his number tonight because any other goalie and Gaborik walked away with a couple of goals.

We actually controlled a good bit of the game and I agree, someone needed to run over that Glencross for that hit on Drury. Intentional or not he needed to feel some pain.

Higgins was very noticeable out on the ice, skating well.

Get Grachev and Parenteau on the next bus to MSG please.

They had their chances. If Kotalik doesn't miss that gaping net we probably get a point. Tough loss. But the worst part is losing Drury and Dubinsky. This team really is soft and our players are going to continue to get roughed up if that isn't addressed. I'm not saying we become a friggin' LNAH team, but can we just see some players stick up for their teammates?

Agreed, the effort was definitely there tonight. They managed to play a respectable game despite losing their top two centers. Kiprusoff has been better as of late and played a great game.

The one thing I was disappointed with was the reaction, or lack thereof, to the Drury hit. That definitely put a damper on what was otherwise a well-played game by the Rangers.

One of those games fellas, Kipper was the reason they won this game. The Rangers had a ton of chances and Kipper played very well. I'm not gonna get on Staal for that play, it's 3 mins left you're trying to make a play you have to take chances whatever. Now if that was in the middle of a game yes I'd get on him. Vally was ok, but Kipper, and not executing on the pp was the game right there. As for the Drury incident, I'm upset too that he was allowed to get away with it. As for the lines, I think it's going to be:

Lisin-Prospal-Gaborik
Higgins-Anisimov-Kotalik
Avery-Callahan-Byers?
Brashear-Boyle-Voros

Did I miss anyone?
