Canes at Pens, 7:30PM

I'll be watching tonight, which guarantees a loss.

The Little Sisters of the Poor face off vs. Sid Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and a bunch of other guys tonight at the Igloo.

Over-under on how badly we'll get slaughtered?

Pitkanen and Gleason. Two AHLers (Harrison/Carson), Alberts and one guy who plays worse than the AHLers (Ward). This is gonna be great.

Atleast Crosby is still out with a groin injury. So i'll say the Pens score stays in the single digits.

And since Marc-Andre Fleury is just the best goalie ever and so much better than Cam Ward, he'll get a shut out.

Can I just say how much I hate the Pens. They make me want to hurl.

I recommend resting him another game . . . he won't be needed tonight.

I'm doing the GDT for the game tonight. Is Legace starting tonight?

Rod Brind'Amour is tonight's healthy scratch.

And yes, Legace in net.

That actually surprises me, not that I disagree with the move, I just didn't really expect to see it.

Your Captain being a healthy scratch... Just as Forslund put it 2 weeks ago, thats's a big elephant in the room. I don't even want to think what is going through Rod's mind.

Good. Brindy has been horrendous. It's time he's sat a few games.. but if you're going to scratch your captain, you have to take his C as well. Time to pass it on to Staal.

This is really, really sad. Obviously it's the right call, but it sucks for Rod to have to go out like this... The poor guy just needs to hang em up.

It will probably be spun as "he's been fighting an injury for some time and needed some time off now that the other forwards are healthy again..."

If there was any chance for either the organization or Brind'Amour to save that face, they would've called it an injury scratch...or something along the lines of a scratch for recuperation. There's no such wording to it, so far...

I haven't seen any official announcement though and I'd expect the wordsmithing to come from Maurice.

I honestly feel bad for Captain Rod, but it's not undeserving. He NEEDS to retire at the end of this season, if not for the team then for his reputation. Right now he's a borderline HOF player, but if he continues to play long after his expiration date then he's going to absolutely torpedo his chances of ever making it.

I wish I could come up with something to resolve the situation. This is truly a sad day. I really thought he'd be able to get back enough to be a credible player, and I suspect he did too. I'm reminded a little of Ronnie in that last season, it was kinda painful to watch how slow he was. Rod is faster, but he's just lost effectiveness. Gotta be very painful for him as much as anyone.

I guess the bionic man just hit the wall finally. I'd love to see him come out of this with something that makes the rest of the season quality at least.

What I worry even more about is that, since he appears to be unmoveable, he may try to play next year. Man I hope this doesn't turn into something like TB and Andreychuk.

I thought Legace would get the call ... I wish Leighton the best! As for Brindy sitting, maybe it should have happened sooner. I love and respect the guy, but it's past time to go.

Oh yeah, the monkeys and I just want to say that we HATE Pittsburgh, AND ...

LET'S GO, 'CANES!!! LET'S GO, 'CANES!!! LET'S GO, 'CANES!!!
