I think they needed to do that anyway. NO TEAM gets to a conference final with a third pairing that includes Tollefson or Syvret.

Didn't they go to the conference final two years ago with Randy Jones?

Syvret + OKT = .575 + .600 = 1.175
Jones = 2.700
Technically they're not even equal to half of Randy Jones.

Also figure these are Syvret's first NHL games. Really if it weren't for injury he shouldn't be playing. Randy Jones, on the other hand, and over 2 seasons of NHL experience by that point.

I totally agree, please God dont call up Mormina. I saw enough of him in Manchester and he ****ing blows. He is barely a AHL defenseman.

You can play without using your pinky finger much. I'm sure he could play on Thursday.

It will never be Sloane. He's off in the E.
As far as who actually gets called up...it's only Monday, and the next game is Thursday.
They're probably waiting to see if Parent will be good to go. If not they'll call someone up closer to Thursday.

Do we have anyone that we could bring up at all? Anyone notable?

According to Wayne Fish, the indication is Bartulis could be recalled.

Also in Saturday night's game, defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen suffered a concussion.
"Ole was better today, we will re-evaluate (him) again tomorrow," Holmgren said. "He will not practice (Monday) and is day-to-day."
If Tollefsen is not ready by midweek, Holmgren indicated Oskars Bartulis might be recalled from the Phantoms.

Bart would be the best bet. Experienced and defensively responsible. Of the group I think Marshall will be best career D man but a callup right now may not be the best developmental decision. I'll be surprised if it's Bourdon.

Ouch.
That Holt injury gives me unwelcome flashbacks to a volleyball injury I had; I was late getting up for a block in practice and the ball was spiked on my pinky and ring fingers of mt left hand. My pinky looked like a tetris piece:
...x
...xx
... x

I had the same thing playing basketball. Tried to go for a short hop and the ball came up straight into my pinky finger. It looked like staircase. Odd thing is that it didn't hurt until they straightened it out.

A baseball player would miss 2 months with a hang-nail, he would be done for the season with a broken pinky
Probably safe to say softball chicks are tougher than most baseball players

Jones is twice as good as either of them, too. Sorry but Syvret belongs in the AHL, Tolly is a passable #7.
We're going to risk burning out the top 4 until Parent is back and we find someone else to be the #6.

I surprised people are complaining about a 6th guy getting paid 500k. You wanna go out, and overspend for a 6th guy? We have more problems then worrying about Syvret/OKT playing the 6th man spot. They havent been as bad as people have been saying.
