That reminds me of the 07' trade deadline when Eklund was on Sportsnet (it was a joke and made the network look completely foolish) and he reported a Bill Guerin trade from St. Louis to NJ was as good as done when I then flicked over to TSN to see them interviewing Guerin LIVE getting his thoughts on being traded to SJ.
Or the time of course back in the summer of 05' coming out of the lockout when Tampa Bay traded Brad Richards to Montreal in a deal surrounding Michael Ryder and it was first reported on a Newfoundland radio station, Ryders home town. I had nothing to do with that, I promise.
I would imagine he will get a week or a little more to get acclimated but then get a start. It's not as if he hasn't been playing. He has been playing for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL.
What's to lose having him in net?
Did either of you get hurt? The would be the final straw if we have Mo go down with an injury too! JK
I'm in hopes this move helps us out. Does anyone have any idea how he's been doing in the AHL so far this year?
Nah, I wasn't about to hurt the guy. About the only thing that might have threatened injury would be if there was a flock of angry geese outside the RBC Center at just that time.

Good, smart move to sign Legace. He got squeezed out after being an All-Star a couple of seasons ago and still has some talent. Far better than the journeyman Leighton or the future journeyman in Peters but he'll need time to show it.
He's a quality guy in the room too and can be pretty funny, such as when he was mic'd up in the All-Star game.

Haha was EK wearing a mask while on TV or was it over the phone?

Dwayne-o was in-studio, with his face "blacked-out". It was a complete and total joke, especially because you could still see what he looked like. It just showed up Sportsnet for the amateur operation that it is.

Reason: Oh noez, does this mean I'll get banned now?

How can you say Legace is far better than Leights or Peters? Currently Legace isn't even putting up good numbers at the AHL level while Peters is. Whatever Legace did in the past is just that and has no bearing on the future. Before spending the money on Legace, why not give Peters an opportunity to play? It's not as if Legace wouldn't be there next week if need be.

Because throwing a developing goaltender who is not NHL ready into our disastrous season is not a smart move. Essentially at this point in time Legace looks to be a stop gap, which is no place for a young goaltender in the form of Peters.

The only way you find out if a goalie is ready is to play him. Perhaps playing a young goaltender would force the team to play a harder in front of him?
It's not as if this is Peters' rookie season, it's his 4th season as a professional. Wouldn't now be a good time to give him as hot to see what he can do at the NHL level? Heck, the worst thing that can happen is that the Canes lose some games, which is certainly likely with a tandem of Leights and Legace.
Besides what message are you sending to a 2nd round draft pick when the team would rather sign a has been putting up significantly worse numbers at the AHL level instead of giving him a shot?
