I'd bet on the gorilla. I think a gorilla would have more power in its punch and could potentially evade the attacks of a lion. All the lion really has is its big teeth and nasty bite, whereas the gorilla has slightly more humanistic moves.

Would be an interesting fight though (ugh I hope the WWE doesn't get any ideas from this).

Have you seen a lion's paws n' claws? Heck, even a lion's tongue could rip human skin off...

Hmm good point, but a gorilla is pretty thick...

I guess the picture I'm getting is of a lion standing up kinda, trying to bite at the gorilla, and the gorilla one punch knocking him out.

This monkey has balls!

I voted lion though. Unless the lion faces that monkey

Lions have better night vision, so if this is happening at night the gorilla doesn't stand a chance. Also, I fear people are thinking of King Kong when it comes to the gorilla; we're talking regular gorilla vs. regular lion here, no?

Lions are built expressly for killing other large predators. The mistresses would do better in a pack. But the male pride lion of large size would kill the Gorilla. It's just not in the Gorillas instinct to execute very well any type of death grip, or bite.

That's all a "Lion" of the the best example has been evolutionarily bred to do. Make little lions, and kill anything the mistresses can't handle. It's a killer, a maneater even. Gorilla, big hairy man, but man never the less.

No contest.

I got money on the Lion. Lions are powerful kings of the jungle. It might go 10 or 11 rounds though, but this judge is scoring Lion. Eventually Lion wears down Gorilla and takes it in the final rounds

i was surprised to see this tied 5-5. i think a lion has a big advantage. it's so quick and powerful and it has claws. unless a gorilla has a giant rock to throw at the lion i don't see how he has the advantage.

That live on the savannah...

Oh, and I guess I'd go with the party that the 50 vertically challenged persons sided with.

Gorilla, hands down. Maybe not the same raw power and inherant dangerousness of the lion, but close to it and I think intuition and cleverness give the gorilla a massive advantage.

Found this on another forum...

Hmm an interesting battle.

The lion has the claws and one bad ass bite, but it's agility is a different sort to that of the gorilla in a way that could seriously disadvantage it.

The Gorilla can get some real power behind it, it may be more intelligent and has more of a fighters agility. plus they fight dirty.

I reckon the fight would be long and bloody but the gorilla would win cos its got more of a wrestlers agility and i reckon it will kill the lion in a necklock or something.

after all King Kong wooped 2 T-rex's... Tarzan who was raised by Gorilla's also whooped a leopards ass in the disney film

So yea i reckon the gorilla would win. but it would be pretty badly wounded!

The lion, but it's a real guess. It's the penguin versus giraffe match up that I'm looking forward to, though.

How would the gorilla kill the lion? That's what I'm hung up on. The lion obviously has claws, teeth, and a ridiculously powerful jaw that it can use to really kill an adversary. The gorilla has...?

Have u ever seen a full grown adult Gorilla. They are effing huge and weigh like a thousand pounds. It could easily just break the bones of the Lion, if it ever got its hands on it.

With that being said, i voted Lion. It would be too agile and fierce IMO.

Can someone please stage this fight?, i really wanna see what happens. Seriously.

Gorilla's have pretty damn big teeth too, Also the pure strenth of them are pretty impressive. One thing some of you arent putting into account here is the Gorilla's opposible thumbs.

That's exactly my issue, giving the utmost respect to the power that a gorilla possesses. I just don't see how it walks away from an encounter as the winner.
