Any loyal, or just avid, fan of the Wild knew this year was going to be extremely rough for us because of all the different changes that took place during the offseason.
-Loss of the franchise's face player
-Loss of the only Coach they knew
-Loss of the only GM/President they knew
-Complete 180 in the design of the system the players were trained in
-Loss of more players in favor to get the young guns in
-Drained farm system of potential players due to lack of good scouting and trading of picks for players who were either over their prime or to entice teams to trade them to us for 1-2 yrs only
-1 year of older players getting old
-Injury bug nailed us hard at the beginning of the season, thereby chemistry was severely lacking
I could probably go on and on and on about the changes/things which happened that have affected this team in more ways than we have never seen before with them. I'm not overly concerned because I was hoping for a Top 5 pick this year anyways. The only way you can get talent in the not so deep drafts are to get at least in the Top 10 no question. Our drafting was been atrocious since 2003 basically, and that is where the issue needs to be addressed first and foremost. This season isn't a wash and I severely hope that no one thinks it should be.
