Row-bear and Chorney out

Just heard on Ched that Chorney is out with a sprained ankle and Nilsson out with a concussion. Either Smidor Strudwick will play forward tomorrow. Mods- if this has been posted already- please delete

Stupid for either Smid of Struds to play forwards. We should stick to 6 dmen and 11 forwards. Double shift whoever's going with Moreau and Stortini.

does anybody know what the average is for man games lost to injury in a season? i don't think we're on pace to break a record or anything, but i'm pretty darn sure we're on pace for a LOT more than average

edit: so i poked around the net and it looks like the average is around 175 games/season... thats a rough estimate anyhow... we're currently on pace for a little over 300 man games lost to injury which would come close to breaking our team record we set in 2007-08

from what i can find the league record is something over 500 ... yikes!! thats an average of 6 players out each and every game

Struds has played forward before. He played both forward and defense when he was with the Rangers.

Thanks Capt. Obvious.

It's not a matter of who can play defense and forward, it's a matter of running short a forward or short a blueliner for a full game. It's a much sounder strategy to not start the game with an already depleted blueline and mixing up the D-pairs every shift.

So we have to make sure that Nilsson is concussed to play well? AND we let MacIntyre go despite this knowledge?

These injuries are getting out of hand. I bet Brian Burke has Oilers voodoo dolls.

don't be suprised if macintyre being let go on waivers was for either chorney to stay up or even potulny. most likely chorney but now its time to trade for the oil gm.

Well this is ****ing ridiculous!

I mean, it ain't like Nilsson and Chorney are good, either of them, but bodies are droppin' like flies round these parts.

Crazy.

I like Chorney. Nothing stellar, but has looked pretty good on the back end for his first real kick in the NHL. I look forward to seeing him mature with the team or in the AHL.

No kidding, year after year, this is just a joke.

It kills to watch the flames be pretty much the top of the league in man games lost every year just to rub it in.

Already being discussed. If you're too lazy to check, then why would you ask someone else to do work for you?

Unbelievable. It's insane how many guys just keep getting injured this year. I pretty much go on HF in the mornings looking out for new injury threads.

Please let it be Struds playing forward. At least then we can bench him after the first 10 minutes of the game and double shift someone. Honestly that guy terrifies me with the puck.
