Oilers Reassign Ryan O'Marra to Springfield

Oilers Twitter!

Called it in the GDT.

They must have heard about MacIntyre (EDIT: claimed by Panthers for those like me that didn't know!)

Interesting, another small player that plays bigger than he is. This could be the chance that jump starts O'Marra's career. A year ago this guy was playing in the ECHL.

I still feel this guy has something to contribute to the Oilers in grit/PK/faceoffs.

wow, i'm kinda shoclked, kinda surprised but most of all hopeful that this kid can show some of the huge promise he had when he played at junior nats. a few years ago.

he was a dominate checking centre then, hopefully he can be the same now...

He's not small. He's not huge, but on our team he's definitely not small.

I'm very excited to see what he brings. Hopefully some of the vets pay attention to the work ethic of the call-ups and realize these guys are out to steal their jobs.

I have never been impressed with O'Marra. Mind you, I haven't seen him play since WJC, but I alwasy thought he was a dissapointment there, and his stats show he's continued that.

That being said, I guess he's playing the 4th line role that Strudwick was maybe going to play. I'm guessing Smid can't go, Struds is back on D, and O'Marra gets a nod.

What's a guy like Chris Minard thinking? Leading the team and just saw 3 forwards get called up ahead of him!

He has to come here and hit everything that moves.

I'm pretty pumped to see what this kid can do at the NHL level.

Oh sorry. I don't know why I was thinking he was like a Brule. I thought he came in at like 5'11". Well then right on. Either way I am excited to see him get a shot. He has come a long way since the Smyth trade.

I'm very excited for O'Marra's debut tonight. I'm thinking he'll center Moreau and Stortini.

IMO, he has alot to offer, he just needs to put it all together. Confidence will be big for him. He can skate, he can win faceoffs, but he needs to hit and play well in his own end to stick.

He has the potential to supersede Potulny and Reddox when healthy bodies start coming back.

Very excited for O'Marra!

Minard is injured. That's what he is thinking.

I read an article yesterday that said Minard was who the Oilers were going to call up but he was injured so they then decided to call up Potulny and Reddox. So Minard would be here before Potulny, Reddox and O'Marra.

O'Marra will play tonight. Studwick and Smid will stay on the blueline.

Also, Chris Minard is injured.

I can understand, he's pretty much the only Oiler property on the farm that is bigger than 6 feet.

I know Minard is in that area too. But ya the forwards are pretty small.

He's really good on the dot. I heard an interview with him where he talked about practicing it for hours.

I'm hoping he comes in tonight and fills the Ryan Stone roll, with the added bonus of being a natural centre who can win a draw or two.

IMO we've missed that physical presence since Stone got hurt. Hopefully O'Marra can bring that tonight. Great to see too that he's sorta ressurected his career since last year.

From 1st round prospect to AHL dissapointment to banishment in the ECHL and back again.

Good for him. Hopefully he has something to contribute.

Go figure considering he was in the ECHL one year ago.

One player who better be watching intently is Robert Nilsson, because here's another player who come up, contribute and get him cut from the team.
